Marly Rivera is an MLB journalist, working for popular media giant ESPN for the past decade. Apart from writing articles for the website, she also conducts interviews with players on the field. Over the years, she built a good name in the MLB industry and rose through the ranks despite being multi-lingual. However, this time, she ended up on the wrong side. An ugly spat over the previous week tarnished her image. The incident took place during the series between the Yankees and the Angels.

Apparently, Marly Rivera has some time reserved to interview Yankees captain Aaron Judge. However, a rival journalist name Ivón Gaete, who happens to be the wife of MLB vice president of Communications, John Blundell, tried to sabotage her interview. Rivera requested her to stand down, but Gaete ignored her plead and went ahead anyway. The ESPN reporter, in a fit of rage, used a vulgar C word and got into an ugly spat. While she did issue an apology later but it fell on deaf ears of Gaete. Meanwhile, Rivera had to face the consequences of her action as she lost her job at the media giant.

The New York Post shook the sports fraternity this morning when it reported the axing of MLB reporter Marly Rivera. An ugly verbal fight with a rival reporter over an interview with Aaron Judge led to her exit from ESPN. Meanwhile, Rivera spoke to the Post and issued an official statement. She accepted her mistake and took full responsibility for her actions and words.

However, she did accuse a certain fraction of people in MLB of ganging up against her. She said she had some disagreements with the MLB communication executive, John Blundell, in the past, which led to her termination from ESPN. On the other hand, The New York Post tried to reach ESPN for a word, but they shunned them by saying that Marly River no longer works for them. Post the incident, Rivera has deactivated all her social media accounts and is on complete radio silence.
