Red Bull

Indeed, Red Bull was nothing during the time when Mercedes was reigning in Formula One. In 2014, as the new set of rules emerged, just when the new Turbo Hybrid era began, Red Bull, the team of the four-time world champion, Sebastian Vettel fell down. Mercedes which was not much recognizable became one of the most dominant teams.

With Lewis Hamilton and Toto Wolff, the Silver Arrows clinched eight constructor’s championships. The backstory of Mercedes’s rise during the last decade and Red Bull’s fall is not hidden. Everyone knows that Mercedes did a great job in adjusting to new rules and Red Bull failed. This was the only reason why being a four-time continuous champion team, Red Bull could not stand strong.

However, does this backstory reminds you of anything at present? Don’t you think that the same thing is happening with Mercedes currently? In 2022, again a set of new technical rules got implemented and one of the teams that adopted the rules nicely started dominating on the grid.

On the other hand, the one team which failed to adjust to the new ground effect rules failed and started falling off. What happened with The Milton-Keynes Based team in 2014, is happening with Mercedes in 2022. It took 8 years for Red Bull to get back to the position. Unsure about how many years Mercedes will take to get back on the right track.

Red Bull Has Everything It Takes To Dominate Like Mercedes

Despite all the good predictions about Mercedes, there has been a very frightening reality check. Mercedes really needs to be realistic at this time. Being optimistic with hopes of winning the championship is good. But they are not advised to forget about the gap they hold between Red Bull and Ferrari. The reigning champion team won 17 GP races, while Mercedes won just one! Believing that the W14 will be stronger should not deny the fact that the RB19 will be the strongest once again capable of winning 17 or more races.

With these facts kept in mind, the former F1 driver, Vitaly Petrov is expecting to see Red Bull dominating in Formula One for a very long period maybe like Mercedes. He believes that Max Verstappen’s team has all the resources that a team needs to reign. Talking with Sky Sports, the former F1 driver said, “Red Bull is a great team with great professionals. They have a lot of money.” With a great driver like Max Verstappen who breaks the record of Michael Schumacher, the team has the best strategy. And they know exactly what they want and how to achieve it.

Vitaly Petrov believes that a Formula One team that works with a specific car manufacturer, is capable of launching its own unique developments. And this is a big advantage for the team. So yes, Red Bull will continue dominating Formula One for a very long time according to the former Formula One driver.
