Patrick Beverley, who was part of the Lakers just in the last month, once again made some shocking revelation. As Pat says, he was not happy in Los Angeles. In the past, he had also played for the Clippers. But lately, the Point Guard was a member of the Lakers roster. Evidently, the squad is not having a great time in the season. The team was revolving around the three superstars, basically, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook. At that point, Beverley was also an essential part of the team’s defense.
But Pat was more active verbally than he was on the scoreboard. As a result, the Lakers needed a significant change in the roster before the February trade deadline. So, in February, the Lakers traded Patrick Beverley to Orlando Magic. The Magic later bought Beverley out. Finally, Pat Beverley managed to sign a contract with the Bulls. However, in his podcast, Pat often mentioned that he had such an uncomfortable time with the Lakers.
Patrick Beverley Was Uncomfortable In The Lakers Team
According to Beverley, “my opinions did not matter to the team as well as it did if LeBron or Anthony would say something.” Apparently, he did not like the environment where he was not getting appreciated enough. Hence when Chicago Bulls met Los Angeles Lakers on Crypto Arena.com, Pat Beverley displayed a lot of passion for beating his former franchise. Again, he did not have a too big impact on the scoresheet, but a couple of gestures really caught the eyes of everybody present in the arena. After scoring a basket over LeBron James, he pointed out that the King was too short to stop that shot. In fact, Patrick Beverley is 6’2 in contrast to James, who is 6’9.
Moreover, later, Beverley made a gesture to say to a die-hard Lakers fan, Shannon Sharpe, that the Lakers stink. In short, Beverley really heated up the encounter against the Lakers. Now once again, the squad will meet the Bulls again tonight in United Center in Chicago. Therefore, either Pat will enjoy another verbal battle against his former team or LeBron James and co. will provide a fitting reply to Beverley’s antics. But the other big question is, will LeBron James play tonight? This is because the condition of LeBron’s right foot is still questionable.
Is LeBron James Fit To Play Against The Bulls Tonight?
The last game saw LeBron James coming off the bench for the first time since the last time in 2007. He more or less did well for a while that he got to be on the court scoring 19 points. But it did not prevent the Lakers from losing the game to the Bulls 108-118. Chicago Bulls are the 10th seed of the Eastern Conference, and the Los Angeles LA side is the 9th seed of the Western Conference.
Without James, the Lakers apparently survived somehow. Anthony Davis and D’Angelo Russell helped the team to get to the top ten. The Los Angeles side still has seven games in hand and will need to make the best use of these games. They cannot afford to lose any more games. The teams are very close to each other in the Western Conference in terms of their win-loss ratio. They will need to hold on to a winning streak. That might see them through.
