Sergio Perez is once again under criticism as the Constructors Cup competition heats up. The seasoned Mexican driver has competed in Formula One since 2011. Despite his expertise, the RBR racer has been unable to make an effect. Every season, he starts with new zest, and just as things start to go his way, he encounters an unseen impediment.

This has been the storyline of his career during every season. Although some laud Max Verstappen for his significant speed, some say Checo’s RB20 is less capable than his partner. Regardless of the reason, the Mexican racer is under immense pressure, with the threat of being fired looming over him. Despite all the chaos, Checo remains unfazed as he explains his plans ahead of the Hungary GP.

Checo Unfazed With The External Noise As He Aims To Tackle The Hungary Challenge

Red Bull driver Sergio Perez, considered one of the most versatile drivers, is enduring an everlasting slump. The Mexican racer kicked off the 2024 season with consecutive podium finishes, ensuring RBR domination. However, things took a peculiar turn after a few races, and he was in a rut. Subsequently, he cannot consistently score points while rival competition increases. Thus, it has put the RBR squad vulnerable, and their World Title campaign seems one-legged. Although, the team management put faith in Checo and renewed his contract. However, he has yet to prove them right, scoring 15 points in the last six races.

Recently, RBR’s engineer Paul Monaghan sternly compared Max Verstappen to Sergio Perez, claiming the Dutchman is quicker. However, despite consistent criticism, Checo remains unfazed. During a recent media interaction with Tomas Slafer, Checo said he is confused about all the external noise about his future. Further, he claimed nothing would change after the weekend, irrespective of the GP’s result. Thus, he was trying to affirm his future with Red Bull as it doesn’t depend on his performance. Moreover, he claimed to stay with the squad until the end of his contract.

Furthermore, during a conversation with Sky Sports, Perez confirmed he is desperate to come out of this slump. The 34-year-old Mexican desperately wants to score points for his team as the competition heats up. Further, he marked everything other than his performance as inevitable external noise, which is part and parcel of the F1 sport.

Moreover, Checo is fully focused on the track, as he understands it’s a long season. Thus, with twelve more races to go, he’ll try his best to return to the top spot. Thus, the Hungarian Grand Prix becomes crucial for the Mexican driver as he aims to score more points.
