Aaron Judge and Juan Soto are leading a two-man New York Yankees roster that just got swept by the New York Mets for the second time this season. After a 3-2 narrow loss, the Mets trashed the city rivals with a humiliating 12-3 defeat on Wednesday.

Needless to say, the loss was tough as the New York Yankees’ AL playoff wild card lead has dropped to 3.5 games. Meanwhile, Yankee captain Aaron Judge acknowledged the tough stretch and called it frustrating. However, at the same time, Judge also has some level of faith left on his team to turn things around.

The New York Yankees‘ recent struggles hit a boiling point following a frustrating series sweep at the hands of the New York Mets. And captain Aaron Judge didn’t mince words in his post-game comments, expressing the team’s urgent need for a turnaround. The series against the Mets highlighted several of the Yanks’ ongoing issues, including inconsistent pitching and an offense that has failed to capitalize on scoring opportunities. Meanwhile, Aaron Judge said the struggles have been disappointing. However, it all comes down to the confidence level. “You gotta go out there, and you gotta be confident every single night and not worry about what happened the night before,” Judge said.

Not only that, the captain said that sometimes players’ body language feels shaken up. However, the team needs a kick and a strong sense of urgency to come out of it. “We’ve got the guys in this room to flip the switch and get us back to where we need to be,” Aaron Judge added. Ultimately, Aaron Judge urged his team not to overthink or panic and to come out in the field to do their job just right each day. The playoff berth is still an achievable target, with 60-odd games still left on the schedule. Overall, as the Yankees look to regroup, the words of their captain resonate as a rallying cry for a team in desperate need of a spark. The upcoming games will be critical in determining whether they can respond to Judge’s call to action and salvage their season.

Meanwhile, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone repeated his iconic ‘right in front of us’ line after the Mets series sweep. He said the team is getting kicked in the teeth and that they have to change that as a unit. Moreover, the skipper believes the Yankees are a good team that has been having a lousy stretch for a while. But he still believes the team can be better.

Notably, Aaron Boone also silenced the outside noise saying New York is a competitive and difficult city to be in. Hence, they cannot pay heed or worry about outside criticism. Overall, the skipper insists that ongoing losing stretch has extended long enough and that no one is gonna pull the team out of this mess but their own performance on the field.
