MLB Analyst Terms These Two Prospects As Longtime Future Infield Solutions For The Yankees

Yankees

New York Yankees does not carry the reputation of building a team from scratch with young talents. As the second largest sports franchise in the world, the Yankees have always believed in constructing a team filled with established players. Moreover, the club never shied away from cashing out huge bucks in order to build a starry lineup.

However, in the recent past, there has been a change in approach from the New York Yankees. The club has started investing in young international prospects by handing out minor league contracts and giving out promotions to deserving ones in the majors. Meanwhile, an MLB analyst has shown a lot of faith in two such future prospects to be longtime solutions for the New York Yankees.

Anthony Volpe, Oswald Peraza Future Solutions For Yankees, Claims MLB Analyst

Oswald Peraza-Anthony Volpe

Anthony Volpe and Oswald Peraza emerged as the top two prospects for the Yankees this year. Meanwhile, McDaniel, an MLB analyst, believes these two have the potential to be the future longtime infield solution for the New York Yankees. Speaking of Volpe, the analyst said Volpe’s been hyped up ever since the beginning of his minor league career. Moreover, after seeing Anthony’s performance in the minor league, McDaniel believes the prospect is ready for the major league as he can handle the pressure stuff effortlessly.

Moving on to Oswald Peraza, McDaniel termed Peraza as the Yankees’ longtime shortstop solution. The analyst acknowledges Peraza’s improvement over the past years. Moreover, he also praised the shortstop’s speed and power. McDaniel thinks Peraza’s potential to increase his ability is something you do not expect from an average guy. Hence, the analyst feels the Yankees front office needs to be extra careful with these two prospects. And further use them wisely, as they are indeed the future of the franchise.

Anthony Volpe Serious About The Shortstop Position

Anthony Volpe

Meanwhile, Anthony Volpe has set goals in mind for this season. After being ranked as the number 1 shortstop prospect, the youngster is all set to contest for the position in the upcoming spring training. Presently, Gleyber Torres and Isiah Kiner-Falefa are the front runners. Still, Anthony is serious about his goals and is ready to grab every opportunity thrown his way.

New York Yankees hitting coach Dillon Lawson lauded Volpe for his work ethic and bat swing adjustments. Dillon said Volpe had progressed nicely in the minor league and would get even better once he makes the transition into the majors. As of now, Anthony Volpe’s position in the starting roster looks unlikely owing to the competition and lack of experience. However, during the mid-season, his chances of promotion will elevate further. The spring training for the 2023 MLB season will begin in two weeks. Moreover, the Yankees pitcher and catchers are asked to report on February 16 at the club’s camp in Tampa, Florida.
