In a recent game between the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Guardians, Yankees announcer Michael Kay called out a bat boy for breaking the team’s hair policy.

The New York Yankees possess an esteemed history of success on the field. Be it their players or the coaches of the staff; all personals follow a unique kind of code ethic to justify the persona of being a Yankee. The former owner of the prestigious organization, George Steinbrenner, laid out certain rules and guidelines back in 1976 and made it mandatory for everyone associated with the organization to adhere to them.

One of that many rules was the unique hair policy. The Yankees’ hair policy has been in place for years and requires all players, coaches, and staff to maintain a clean-cut appearance. This includes hair that is above the collar and ears and facial hair that is trimmed and well-groomed. While mustaches are allowed, having beards or any facial hairs is strictly prohibited. Hence, when a YES broadcaster spotted a person in a Yankee uniform donning long hair, he could stop himself from calling it out.

YES commentator Michael Kay created a stir on social media when he bashed a young bat boy. Nate Rosenhaus, a batboy of the New York Yankees, was spotted sporting long blonde hair during the Yankees Monday’s outing against the Cleveland Guardians. It caught Yankees commentator Michael Kay’s attention, who called him out for the same. He said the boy is violating the hair policy regulation. Kay suggests that the rules are the same for everyone. If the players are adhering to it, then why can’t Nate?

The harsh words definitely reached the Yankees and Nate’s ears as he ditched the look on Tuesday. Apparently, the Bombers asked Nate to tuck his hair under the helmet. The entire rant went viral on social media, with people standing divided on the whole issue. Some believe that rules are devised for a reason and must be followed. On the other hand, a few stated that Kay is just making a big deal out of a young bat boy. Regardless, the entire rant became a point of humorous discussion on social media and ended on a fun note, as even Nate found it hilarious.

Amid the online stir, the New York Yankees bat boy Nate Rosenhaus has come out with an explanation. He said that working with the Bombers is just a side job for him. Primarily he works in a band called “The Open Doors.” Hence, he has to sport a funky look to fit in that genre.

Meanwhile, Nate even reached out to Yankee’s baseman, Anthony Rizzo, who helped him publicize his band. Rizzo accepted a band shirt from Nate and hoped that the recent controversy would work positively for him. Overall, Nate went home a happy boy with a larger dream of making it big in the music industry.
