Max Verstappen

Formula One has a bundle of rules; each meant to be followed. Otherwise get penalized, mostly a loss of some dollars. The two-time world champion, Max Verstappen, has been winning the hearts of those who believe in ‘rules are meant to be broken’. In the championship battle of 2021, the Red Bull star, along with a lot of other drivers, broke several rules unintentionally. They obviously got the punishment also.

But the one fine of $50,000 given to Max Verstappen for not abiding by the rules is still remembered even after two years. Mercedes is the biggest opponent and rival of Red Bull and so how can it leave a single opportunity to criticize Max Verstappen?

Max Verstappen Touched The Rivals Car And Broke The Rule!

The 2021 Formula One season, which shattered Lewis Hamilton’s dream of becoming an eight-time world champion, is arguably the most exciting season of the motorsport so far. During the Brazilian Grand Prix of the season, the very incident took place, which cost $50,000 for Red Bull. It was the sprint race, and Lewis Hamilton was in his form. From the back of the grid, he ran to the pole position. Everyone was stunned to see Hamilton’s unbeatable performance. Probably his rival Max Verstappen was too shocked. He suspected something weird in Hamilton’s W12 Mercedes car. So, Max decided to go check it himself.

Max Verstappen Touching Mercedes Car

To be honest, Max Verstappen was just curious, the same as any human being could be; he did nothing wrong. He just touched the rear wing of the Mercedes car in parc ferme. (perhaps it could have been counted on as natural human behavior, we touch things!) But, no, not in Formula One. For the one-second touch that Max Verstappen committed, he was considered to violate the parc ferme rule. This made him eligible for the hefty penalty of $50,000.

Mercedes Shared A Video Referring To Max Verstappen’s Touching Mercedes Car That Made Him Pay $50,000

This was just hilarious. Fifty thousand dollars for touching the rival’s car just sounds perfect for meme material. As a result, fans from all across the world started making fun. The governing body just got an unexpected bonus to do a party, drinks club, or something. Several kinds of mockings and memes till today are made.

Meanwhile, Mercedes recently once again highlighted the incident by sharing a Mercedes factory video saying, “We should have known better [in a laughing tone]”. So Mercedes shared a video via their official Twitter handle. We can see a member of the team comes and mistakenly touches the front wing of Lewis Hamilton’s W13 car. And like O Sh*t, it said, “Wasted” on the screen. This video is probably followed by the trend where regretting moments are captured, and then “Wasted” are written on the screen. This is basically from the game, ‘Grand Auto Theft,’ where when players get killed, it says wasted with the same font.

Fans loved this Social Media mocking of Mercedes. These are just some of the funny materials. Or let’s say, fun battles that always take place off the track between the rivals.
