The Formula One team Mercedes faced a disastrous season in 2022 with only one win. As soon as the last season ended, the seven-time world champion, who lost his personal records due to the porpoising issues that occurred in the W13, rejected to drive the car in all the tire testing events. He has given a clear statement, “I will never sit in the same car ever”.

Now That The Problems Of W13 Is Figured Out, Mercedes Will Not Make A mistake In W14
Speaking with PlanetF1.com, Toto Wolff revealed the inner scenario of the Mercedes factory when he got shocked to see the W14 as it looked the same as W13. However, for the new package of Mercedes, Wolff has confirmed that it is full of surprises. He said, “When the last time I saw the car, I said it looked exactly the same! [same as W13]. But here is hoping it should not be the same.”
Toto Wolff admitted that I was just like all the fans thinking, is the car the same again? What if it performs the same? But as he is the boss, he went inside and asked the engineers, who later explained to him the major differences between the cars.
Toto Wolff revealed that the engineers told him, “The Mercedes W14 is very much different underneath.” The differences vary in the airflow system, the weight distribution, and the aero map. Meanwhile, the Austrian boss shared the problems that the team figured out in last year’s car. Only after the issues are found can one work on it.
So, fortunately, the Silver Arrows do not lack here; the team has figured out the problems very well and working on the same in order to make a flawless W14. Wolff claimed, “We understand pretty well why the Mercedes car was not performing.” He later promised that the team is now able to solve those problems by this winter break. He promised his drivers to give them a “stable platform”.
