Max Verstappen
Max Verstappen lost the battle with nike

Max Verstappen’s on-track story perfectly describes how a star rises. Filled with battles, and challenges, the two-time world champion succeeded in becoming the first title contender of 2023. Although looking at the off-track life of the driver, you can find interest here, too. This is because the battles go parallel but with different opponents. The Red Bull star recently concluded the long-term investigation running on him due to establishing the new clothing brand he is up to.

Actually, Max tried to launch his own brand naming it “Max1”. But the already existing world-famous brand, NIKE, found that the name Max Verstappen used was associated with their brand. Nike is vast in providing sports shoes and clothes. They have AIR Max shoes, which are almost similar to what Max’s start-up sounds. So, the big brand Nike held a case against the Red Bull star. The case was dealt with by Benelux Office for intellectual property.

Later in the procedure, BOIP pointed out that the “likelihood of confusion” was real. The design that Max Verstappen is trying to bring has been figured out as very much similar. Or “may believe” as designs belonging to the same company.

Not only the name of the company was found inappropriate by the American sports clothing brand. But also, the styling was identified as partly similar. Now that the court has confirmed and spoken in favor of Nike, Max Verstappen has apparently lost the case. He will now have to take the names and designs of the new clothing brand that is not yet launched, back. The reports released by BOIP suggested, “Both signs [the logo designs or the brand name] include the word MAX albeit in a different area. The trademark invokes the elements AIR and MAX somehow weigh equally. The impression coming from both is the same.”

Nike Owes £918 (€1,045) From Max Verstappen As BOIP Finds Him Guilty

The main emphasis, based on which the judgment was taken, is the word MAX. Max Verstappen has number 1 in the brand name. This can be regarded as a specification of the word MAX. And, up to this extent, the signs agree. But you can find that Nike and Max are party identical and somehow similar. So, “visually and aurally, a certain degree of similarities can be found between the signs.” said the report released by the judges. However, now that, intentionally or unintentionally, Max Verstappen has been proven guilty by NIKE, he will have to pay £918 (€1,045) to the defender.

Nevertheless, Max will find some other ways soon to launch his clothing brand that fans are eagerly waiting to wear. Speaking of the F1 driver’s personal clothing brand, fans can see Lewis Hamilton‘s +44. He launched the brand named +44 with a range of products. And now the Mercedes star is ready to work together with h Japanese artist Taasi Murakami to launch the transformative collection. Unfortunately, Max Verstappen will now have to take a U-turn before going ahead with his new start-up.

Meanwhile, so far, the two-time world champion is doing great in the season. During the Second race at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Max had to face the driveshaft issue in the RB19, due to which he had to start the Weekend race from P15. Yet he managed to take all attention with his spectacular podium position, which he took by overtaking Mercedes, Ferrari, and Aston Martin. The on-track battles are not slipping from Verstappne’s hand for sure.
