Lewis Hamilton is the most championship-winning driver alive in the world. He has seven-world titles same as the legend Michael Schumacher. Plus, he has the record for most wins in Formula One. No one has ever dared to cross 100, while Hamilton holds a 103 GP winning record. He is indeed a GOAT, isn’t he?
In 2021 Abu Dhabi Lewis Hamilton was going to clinch his eighth world title but was hit by the last moment’s bad luck. Last year when he returned back in Formula one to get the lost title back, then even worse, he lost his previous records of winning a race, at least in a season, and got shattered. Seems like the journey to the 8th world championship title will take a lot from Hamilton; breaking Schumacher’s record must not be an easy task, by the way.
Lewis Hamilton has more than 40 million followers on social media accounts. Probably each corner of the world has someone who loves him, and each city in every country has thousands who like him for his racing performance along with his social activities. But unfortunately, as said before too, in Formula One, with big names comes big criticism too.
Hamilton is not just a driver; he is a kind of engineer too. Before driving the car, he always analyzes it and demands significant changes. Once, he asked Mercedes to make black cars. It was not a bad idea; by the way, black is the color of the class. Though the idea was not passed in Mercedes, one of the former drivers was not impressed by Hamilton suggesting that.
The Idea Of Lewis Hamilton In Changing Mercedes Car, Was Disappointing For The Ex-Renault Driver
The ex-Renault and Ferrari driver, Rene Arnoux, spoke to Gazzetta Dello Sport and shared his thoughts about Lewis Hamilton. He said, “He is a character that I don’t like very much. When he asked Mercedes to make the black car, I wouldn’t say I liked it. It was a disappointment for me.” It was a disappointment for the former French driver because he would prefer a black and white car instead of pure black or pure white. Rene believed that a mixture of black and white cars would possess a positive impact.
However, the former Renault driver is definitely of those well-wishers of Lewis Hamilton who is a fan of his racing tactics. Rene tends to appreciate the seven-time world champion, for he has the most seven titles. Even though he failed to secure any pride in 2022, this could not decrease the respect Rene holds for him.
Now, the Briton has become more aware of the fact that neglecting even a single rule adaptation can lead to ruining the entire season. The Mercedes star, Lewis Hamilton himself, is a kind of designer, often times he has often changed the car’s features adopted by all the rival teams, too, like the design of the square steering. Now, Lewis, Mercedes engineers, hopes, expectations, and prayers all together are working on making a strong W14. Let’s see what happens in the 2023 Formula One season.
