The Lakers broke their five-game streak last night as they lost against the table toppers Denver Nuggets. LA was cornered as they lacked LeBron James, who is in great form averaging 30-plus points in every game. Hollywood is already missing their beast player Anthony Davis because of his stress fracture injury. However, the Lakers received the good news that he could return soon for the Purple and Gold. In the meantime, the 2020 champs enjoyed a tremendous winning run under LeBron’s supervision.

Another good news for LeBron James is that he is only 35 points away from joining the 38000 points club. There are no other players than James and Kareem Abdul Jabbar, who have scored 38000 points. Looking at the form that King James is in, the four-time champ will enter the club in the next game he plays. The 38-year-old continues to defy all odds as he constantly reaches new heights and breaks records. Meanwhile, the Lakers forward manage to win another player of the week for his remarkable performance in the past week.

LeBron James Player Of The Week

The Lakers’ official Twitter account announced that LeBron James had received the Western Conference Player of the Week. This is his second time receiving the award, which doubles the number of times his closest competitor, Kobe Bryant, has won it. James put up impressive numbers during his two games last week, averaging 31 points, 8.5 assists, and 7.5 rebounds per game, and led the team to victory. While the performance helped LeBron win the player of the week, it also allowed the Lakers o improve their skimpy record in the table.

LeBron James has been a key leader for the Lakers in the absence of Anthony Davis. The 29-year-old is currently recovering from a stress injury in his right foot. The team has managed to go 7-5 in the 12 games Davis has missed. And there is hope that he will be able to return to the team in the coming weeks. The Lakers are more stable without Davis than they were with him. However, the team needs the monstrous energy back in the team to bash their opponents. Nonetheless, the Lakers fan will be hoping for the same energetic performance Anthony had before his injury.

Another player, along with LeBron James, received the player of the week because of his explosive performance Donovan Mitchell. The Cavaliers guard had a career-defining week, starting with a franchise-record 71-point game on Monday. He continued to shine throughout the week, leading the team to a 3-1 record while averaging 37.7 points, 7.3 assists, and 5.3 rebounds per game. His 71-point game places him among an exclusive group of only seven players in NBA history to score 70 or more points in a game. The Cavaliers team currently holds the 3rd spot in the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 26-15.
