LeBron James

LeBron James

LeBron “King” James first stepped foot in NBA 20 years ago. Post 20 season, he is regarded as the best of the sport to ever exist. James broke numerous records, which he would have lost count of by now. The forward recently turned 38 years old and still continues carrying the weight of the team by being the leading point scorer in almost every game.

A few weeks ago, LeBron James surpassed 38,000 career points and is now 158 points away from being the all-time highest point scorer in the history of the NBA. He will break Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s record of 38,387. While that momentous record has to wait for now. Meanwhile, James broke another record as he was ranked as the top player in the updated 2k23 NBA ratings.

Meanwhile, LeBron James started out with 96 rating points at the start of the season. However, the NBA 2K23 ratings were updated, which gave LeBron James the top spot with 98 rating points after back-to-back consistent performances. Moreover, this is James’ 18th straight 2k game, having rated 94 or more. Hence, King James is the only player in the history of the NBA to have achieved such a feat.

Furthermore, LeBron James is having a great season personally. King James is averaging 29.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 7.0 assists now. Moreover, the four-time MVP registered four 40+ points games, one of which ended up in a dramatic second-half comeback for the Lakers. Hence, the Lakers are dependent heavily on the 38-year-old owing to his consistency. However, the team is not at all benefitting from the forward’s personal records, as the lack of support of causing back to back defeats.

Lakers On The Edge Of Getting Knocked Out Despite James’ Heroics

Lakers

Despite LeBron James back to back record-breaking performances, the Los Angeles Lakers are struggling badly. After last night’s win against the San Antonio Spurs, the team still ranks 13th on the Western Conference points table with a scoreline of 23-26. Anthony Davis’ return did make a difference, but his five-week absence has already caused the damage. Moreover, apart from James and Davis, no other player is helping in the winning cause for the Lakers. The duo cannot carry the team for too long in the tournament.

However, now that AD’s back and they traded Rui Hachimura, the hopes of a playoff berth are still intact. But looking at the current lineup of the Lakers and competition in the West, the playoff dream looks far-fetched. Still, the Lakers will hope to put on a good show for the remainder of the season and give in all that they got. The Lakers management led by Darvin Ham must go back to the drawing slate and chalk up a new plan that is actually workable.
