Los Angeles Lakers have retained the players they wanted to. Clearly, Rob Pelinka, the Laker’s General Manager, impressed everybody with the perfect execution of the plans for the offseason. For no players, would they want to let Austin Reaves go? He has become a fan favorite after his wonderful consistency throughout the last season. After the 2022-23 season, Reaves was a restricted free agent. However, the Lakers Nation had faith in their front office about doing the right thing to re-sign AR. That’s what the Lakers’ front office did. They re-signed Austin Reaves for a four-year contract worth $56 million.

Rob Pelinka also ensured the Lakers had big players on their reserve bench. That’s why on Day 1 of the Free agency, they re-signed Rui Hachimura for a three-year contract worth $51 million. But the concern was regarding D’Angelo Russell and his unrestricted free agency. However, Rob Pelinka ensured D’Lo stayed with the LA side for another couple of years with a deal worth $37 million. After securing the trio of promising talents, the Lakers acquired some more quality players like Gabe Vincent, Cam Reddish, and Taurean Prince. However, Lakers Faithful has been afraid of retirement news from none other than LeBron James. And to address the same, the Lakers’ GM himself expressed excitement about the King’s return after his Instagram post.

He also welcomed all the new players on the roster of the Lakers on his Instagram story. It showed King James’ genuine concern for his team. But the rumor surrounding his possible retirement was a concern for the Lakers Nation. It is true that the 38-year-old NBA great had all the reasons to be upset after the humiliating loss in the Western Conference Finals. But he showed everybody that the King has still got what it takes to win championships. Even in the WCF, James had a 40+ points game. Hence, James can still go a long way as a professional basketball player.

On the other hand, GM Rob Pelinka explained that they give LeBron James complete freedom to make any decision on his career. But he expressed his excitement to see King James giving love to his teammates. And it shows that the 38-year-old James is getting ready for the new season. Pelinka is sure a smart man who never tries to speak on behalf of LeBron James. That’s something James truly appreciates. But not just him, though, as almost everybody is talking about the Lakers being the winners of the 2023 Free Agency.
