Lakers Cam Reddish’s Pursuit Coming To An End Soon! Closing The Deal Before The NBA Trade Deadline Next Month

Lakers

Among the most successful franchises in NBA, the Los Angeles Lakers are not currently having the best season. It is not easy for them to try and qualify for the playoffs. Their star players, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis are not fit enough to play every match. Due to injury, Davis has not played for a long time. And James missed the previous game due to an injury.

But in the current season, King James is carrying the team on his shoulder as AD did in his absence despite not being completely fit. Even though there is no doubt about the skills and performances of the two players, the Lakers need to look for promising young talent for the future. Most importantly, they must find fit players who can take the place of James or Davis during their absence. Hence the Lakers’ front office is looking for options at the NBA trade deadline.

Lakers’ Knee Deep In Cam Reddish’s Pursuit!

Cam Reddish

Out of the pool of young and fit talents at the NBA trade, the New York Knicks player Cam Reddish is a viable option for LA Lakers. The 23-year-old Knicks wing has not displayed the best of his abilities at the beginning of his career, which might make the Knicks not sign him for a new contract. If Reddish becomes a free agent, the Lakers might bring him in looking for a long-term deal. According to one of the NBA insiders Marc Stein, “Albeit the fact is that shooters are very expensive, but the Lakers are having a close eye on dealing with the Knicks wing, Cam Reddish.”

Cam Reddish has promising talent but has not yet been able to make full use of what he has got. One of the advantages of Cam is his age which can take him a long way. Most of the NBA teams, like the Lakers, always like to bet on young talents. After the Knicks bought him from a similar scenario last year at the NBA trade deadline, Reddish has not been able to justify his place in the team. His average is only 8 points shooting from the field, i.e., 45%. The Knicks team is no longer giving him too many chances to prove himself. Therefore, it is opening up all sorts of possibilities for trading him.

Why Should LA Go Ahead With Reddish?

Due to Cam’s age, quite a few teams can be willing to buy the kid. But the Lakers must go for it looking at their bench strength. If this trade does not cost them too much, they should buy Cam Reddish. There is no certainty that it will be very successful, but it can’t get any worse for the Lakers. On the other hand, if Cam finds his purple patch for the Lakers, the team’s front office will get nothing but their money’s worth back. The Lakers should be excited about this kind of deal if they look forward to being ready for the future.
