LeBron James has been a long-time rival of the Golden State Warriors. It started with the 2015 NBA season. That was the year which marked the beginning of the Dubs Dynasty. But between 2015 and 2018, the Cleveland Cavaliers met the GSW in four straight NBA Finals. It was a classic matchup in the Finals between the all-time leading scorer and Stephen Curry for four years in a row. Moreover, the Dubs won three times of those four Finals. However, LBJ was able to end the “Cleveland Curse” after 52 years as he led the Cavs to win in 2016. That whole rivalry between LeBron James and Stephen Curry has been absolutely epic.

These two guys have been the face of the NBA for so many years. However, things are looking to change in 2024. Neither Bron nor Steph managed to lead their respective teams to the second round of the playoffs this year. It has been a few years since LBJ has been playing for the LA Lakers. Moreover, he has won an NBA title with the Lakers in 2020. Later, in the 2023-24 season, LBJ led the LA side to win the inaugural In-season tournament or the NBA Cup. However, there is a wild rumor that the Warriors might trade with the Lakers for LeBron James.

Will Warriors Trade Valuable Assets For LeBron James?

Recently, in a Bleacher Report article, Dan Favale proposed the idea of LeBron James switching to the Golden State Warriors. A few years ago, LBJ said he would like to have Stephen Curry as his teammate for an NBA team. That wish might come true if Favale’s wild theory comes to fruition. According to Dan Favale, the Warriors might trade Jonathan Kuminga, Brandin Podziemski, Kevon Looney, Andrew Wiggins, Gui Santos, and several other future first-round picks and swaps to the Lakers. In exchange, the Dubs would land LeBron James. As per reports, the Golden State Warriors had checked on LBJ’s availability during the trade deadline.

However, the LA side and the all-time leading scorer showed no interest in the trade offer from the Dubs before. Perhaps that scenario might change after the Lakers faced a first-round exit. Although it seems highly unlikely that Rob Pelinka and Jeanie Buss would say ‘Yes’ to the idea of trading LBJ, what if the leading scorer of all time prefers to move elsewhere? Last year, when the Denver Nuggets knocked the Lakers out in the conference finals, LeBron James started contemplating retirement immediately. This year, the team suffered an even early exit against the same opponent. How will LBJ react now?

Stephen Curry won the NBA Clutch Player of the Year award in the 2023-24 season. While he talked about winning that award on TNT’s Inside the NBA show, Steph revealed what he is upto now, given he is shockingly not in the second round of the playoffs. He said he is an eager student of the game, and he will be taking notes while watching the playoffs from home. Curry mentioned that the team will be eager to learn what they can do better to get back to that top level.

Hence, the Warriors will be open to any suggestions that might help the team get back on the top. Perhaps that might mean trading for LeBron James as well. LBJ and Steph will team up for Team USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics. It will be like a modern-day American Dream Team, adding Kevin Durant to the mix as well.
