Kobe Bryant was a synonym for the Los Angeles Lakers. After making his debut in 1996, Kobe played for the Lakers for 20 years until his retirement in 2016. During his 20-year-long career, Kobe won five NBA championships, 18 NBA all-stars, and two NBA finals MVPs. His overall career points touched 33,643, which ranked him 4th on the all-time highest point scorer list in the history of the NBA.

However, Kobe Bryant’s legacy saw a tragic end. In 2020, a helicopter with Kobe, his daughter Gianna and seven others on board crashed due to weather complications. All passengers on board, including the pilot, died in the fatal crash. The news of his death sent shockwaves not just to basketball but to the entire sports world. Kobe Bryant was the Laker’s heart and soul. He devoted his entire life to the franchise and played with all his heart. However, his life ended on a tragic note. Kobe and his daughter, Gianna, could not survive a fatal chopper crash and died in 2020. The sudden events shook the world, and the sports world, in particular, stood at a standstill. Particularly the Lakers, who were associated with the shooting guard for 20 years.

Meanwhile, just a few days after Kobe’s death, his teammate, LeBron James, got inked to honor Kobe’s legacy. The tattoo featured a snake referring to a Mamba snake as Kobe’s nickname during his career was “Black Mamba.” Moreover, James added Kobe’s jersey number 24 as well as his jersey number 8 around the snake. Moreover, the tattoo read “Mamba 4 life” at the end below the entire symbol. King James also gave out a speech in honor of Kobe Bryant a few weeks after the crash.

Yesterday, the world mourned Kobe Bryant as it was his three-year death anniversary. It was on 26th January 2020 when Bryant, his teenage daughter, and seven others met in a fatal chopper crash that took their lives. Apparently, the entire crew on the board was traveling to California to attend Gianna Bryant’s basketball game at Mamba sports academy. However, no one could survive the fatal accident.

The Lakers posted a photo of Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant on their Twitter handle and captioned it “Today and Forever” with an infinity symbol. Moreover, various players and people associated with the sport have sent heartfelt messages to remember the late legend. No doubt Kobe was one of a kind, and these kinds of players are just born once in a lifetime. Kobe Bryant’s legacy with the Lakers and the NBA will forever be remembered. Rest in Peace, Kobe and his little one.
