Juan Soto, one of the pillars of the New York Yankees offense this season, faced a nervous injury scare last week. Amid a smooth run of play, Soto was removed from the series finale against the Twins after a brief rain delay. It was later revealed that the slugger reported discomfort in his left forearm.
While imaging and MRI scans showed no significant damage, Juan Soto still rested for the entire LA Dodgers home series as precautionary measure. That being said, after a nervous few days, Soto finally returned to the Yankees lineup against Kansas City Royals. But his injury scare is still very intact.
Juan Soto Says Forearm Discomfort Won’t Go Away Quick
The New York Yankees landed at around 3.00 am in Kansas with a game scheduled against the Kansas City Royals just hours later. Hence, citing travel fatigue, manager Aaron Boone rested captain Aaron Judge, Anthony Rizzo, and Giancarlo Stanton from the starting lineup. Interestingly, generational star Juan Soto made his much-awaited return to the lineup after missing 3 games with forearm discomfort. Soto hadn’t played a game since Thursday’s finale against the Twins. He was diagnosed with forearm inflammation, and despite no significant pain, he rested from the Dodgers series as a precaution. That being said, while Soto was finally back on Monday, he was penciled in as designated hitter and not at his regular position in the right field.
“Just a way of easing him in,” said Aaron Boone on snubbing Soto from outfield in his comeback game. Meanwhile, Juan Soto revealed after the game that he has had tons of treatments on his forearm for a couple of weeks. While he is seeing some improvement, Soto is certain that the discomfort won’t fully go away quickly. Moreover, Yankees manager Aaron Boone added that he plans to use Soto in defense in this series itself. But that depends on how Soto feels on Tuesday. Having said that, Juan Soto looked normal on Monday as he contributed to the Yanks’ 4-2 win against the City Royals. He felt no soreness, and the signs indicate that the generational star could be seen playing in the outfield this week. The Yanks are 1-0 in the four-game series already and are leading AL-East with a 47-21 win-loss record.
MLB Player Calls Soto ‘Overrated’ In Controversial Take
A 25-year-old left handed hitter, Juan Soto, is widely referred to as generational talent for his impeccable hitting display on the plate. However, an anonymous MLB player dropped a controversial take as he called Soto overrated. He said that while it’s a spite pick, all Soto does is take singles and walk.
The unnamed MLB player added that Juan Soto does not necessarily have the power that fans would like to believe and that Soto is a terrible outfielder. While Soto might be a legend just yet, he has his whole career lying ahead of him. His outfield skills are already improving, and Soto’s offensive stats are still better amongst the most coveted league hitters.
