The New York Yankees traveled to California for the first time in a recent while for a three-game series against the San Francisco Giants. Aaron Judge, the local boy, was coming to the city for the first time since 2019, and it was a bittersweet moment given how he ditched the Giants during the infamous 2022 free agency.

However, while the New York Yankees are excited to explore the unknown territory of Oracle Park, San Francisco Giants starting pitchers are terrorised ahead of Yanks hitters arrival. Logan Webb recently confessed in an interview that he is wary of pitching against a power packed in-form Bombers hitting lineup.

The New York Yankees’ hitting lineup is stacked with some of the most dangerous hitters in baseball, headlined by Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, and Giancarlo Stanton. This year, this three-headed monster trio has pushed all boundaries to stack up over 40 home runs in total. Judge and Soto particularly have gone mental on the plate, with the captain setting up a record stretch in May.

Meanwhile, ahead of the three-game series against the Giants, Logan Webb, a rising star in his own right, acknowledged the challenge posed by the Yanks’ lineup. Webb said the Bombers always enjoy a good amount of support on road trips as their fans are present everywhere, and he does not expect California to be different.

However, while Logan Webb is excited to face the New York Yankees at home after a long while, he understands the challenges of facing the likes of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto. “It’s not fun facing some of the guys,” said Webb. He added that he had always been a victim in Judge’s book, as he had been taken to the cleaners on last year’s opening day. Besides, Webb is also wary of Soto’s iconic shuffle.

Regardless, Logan Webb is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a historic series. The pitcher revealed that his grandma was excited and proud to see him face the Yankees, and Webb promised to put his best foot forward. “Grandma can’t believe her grandson is facing the New York Yankees. I am a little more nervous now,” Webb said further while talking to Chris Rose Sports.

In what turned out to be a historic night at Oracle Park on Friday, Aaron Judge’s multi-homer night led the Yankees to a 6-2 win in the series opener against the San Francisco Giants. Judge slammed two home runs to end his May resurgence on a high. The captain’s extra-base hit tally for the month clocked 25.

And subsequently, Aaron Judge surpassed Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig to become the Yankee with the most extra-base hits in May. Not only that, Judge is now leading the league in home runs with 20 long shots over a span of two months. And with a large portion of the season still left on the cards, Judge is on the pace to log 50+ home runs this season.
