Carlos Rodon, the New York Yankees 2023 season bust, kicked started his redemption season on a high. His damaging fastballs had gained life. Moreover, Rodon leveled up his game by adding sinkers and curve balls to his pitching arsenal. He did reap the rewards of his hard work early in the season.
In his past two season starts, Carlos Rodon gave up only three hits and a run across 13 innings, which lowered his ERA to 2.48. However, the Orioles challenge proved to be too steep for the left-hander, as he blew up his start badly, and the Yankees dropped the four-game series in pitcher-friendly Camden Yards ballpark.
Carlos Rodon Allows 3 Home Runs In Season Worst Start Vs Orioles!
The New York Yankees dropped the ball against defending AL-East champions, the Baltimore Orioles, on Thursday. After stealing a lone win on Wednesday, the Yanks lost the four-game series 3-1 after facing a 7-2 in the series finale. While hitters struggled to adjust to the widened dimensions of the Camden Yards, starting pitcher Carlos Rodon was even worse on the mound. After a strong start to the season, Rodon allowed three solo home runs and four additional runs in the fifth inning to lift the Orioles to a comfortable win. The final hopes of a comeback for the Bombers were ruined by second baseman Gleyber Torres’ error in the field in the fifth inning. Regardless, the blame for the loss clearly fell on Rodon for his abysmal start.
And Carlos Rodon accepted his shortcoming, stating that his execution could have been a lot better. Rodon said that the Orioles are a good-hitting team. But that’s no excuse for him being out of line with his pitches. “Got to be better with where I’m throwing the ball and try to limit the long ball and get out sooner. It sucks,” Rodon said after the game. The pitcher additionally reflected on inducing more swing and misses against the Orioles hitting lineup, which was strong from top to bottom. At the end of the day, his stuff wasn’t good enough, and Rodon promised to bounce back soon from this blowout start. That being said, the painful road trip has come to an end, and now the Yanks will move home for the Tigers series.
Yankees Skipper Defiant On Aaron Judge’s Hitting Position Despite Offensive Struggle!
New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge once again went hitless in the series finale against the Baltimore Orioles as the Yanks went down 7-2. Judge has been in this abysmal form since the start of the season, and hence, calls over adjustments in his hitting position have been gaining momentum. However, skipper Aaron Boone refused to budge.
“Somebody’s going to pay, big time. He’ll get it going, and look out when he does,” said Boone. Notably, the Yankees have had Aaron Judge’s back since his struggles broke out. Even Judge stated that a comeback is just around the corner. He just needs to time the ball well and earns walks as much as he can to stay in the game.
