“I Don’t Think He Wants Me,” Lewis Hamilton Calls Out Max Verstappen Lies On Choice Of Teammate

Sir Lewis Hamilton has been waiting for a long time to win his eighth championship. He came pretty close in 2021. That year belonged to Mercedes but also to Max Verstappen. It was symbolic that from 2021, the most dominant driver was no longer the great Briton. Moreover, the seven-time champion lost the streak of winning races every season since the previous year. Moreover, there is a new rumor floating around regarding Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull. Lately, Christian Horner revealed that Hamilton showed interest in joining the Red Bull team several times in the past. And he did it as late as this year before signing the two-year extension with Mercedes.

However, Lewis Hamilton denied the rumor. But Horner told The Daily Mail that it was true. Anyhow, Lewis Hamilton said it was Red Bull who made the first contact. Moreover, Horner mentioned he never saw Hamilton and Verstappen clicking together as teammates. On the other hand, Max Verstappen mentioned he would have no problem racing against Lewis Hamilton in the same car. But Hamilton doesn’t believe Verstappen would be open to that idea either.

Lewis Hamilton recently told the media that he would actually love to race against Max in the same car. He believes that would be a wonderful contest. But Hamilton said in Abu Dhabi that Max Verstappen would not love the situation with him and Hamilton being on the same team. Moreover, the seven-time champion added that he checked on with everybody in Red Bull and that some of them has tried to reach out to them.

Adding to that, Lewis Hamilton said that he found his old phone recently that had his old number. Later, he found a message among hundreds of them that was very intriguing. It was a message from Christian Horner saying, “Let’s get together and discuss at the end of the season.” What’s that all about? Is this proposition of Hamilton leaving Mercedes to join Red Bull getting serious? Moreover, the rumor caused a stir because of the rivalry between Hamilton and Verstappen.

In his long and illustrious career, Hamilton has won as many as 103 Grand Prix. No other driver has come even close to 100. Only Michael Schumacher has won 91 Grand Prix. But then comes Max Verstappen and Sebastian Vettel on 53. However, chances are Max will surpass Vettel in the next and final Grand Prix of the current season. Then only Schumacher and Hamilton would remain ahead of Verstappen in terms of GP win tally.

Moreover, Red Bull and Max Verstappen will look to dominate the next season as well. Can they do any better than this year? It will be very hard to replicate what Red Bull and Max achieved this year. But they sure dominated the grid in 2022 as well and got even better in 2023. Hence, who knows what the Milton Keynes team can achieve next year, given their current status.
