Jos Verstappen and Christian Horner

Since the beginning of 2024, things have been unsuitable within the Red Bull squad. It all started when Christian Horner was embroiled in a sexual misconduct case. While the investigation gave him a clean chit, the other team members wanted him to leave the setup. As a result, the team got divided into two factions, with Horner on one side and Jos Verstappen on the other.

Later, the two had an animated argument during the Bahrain race. The former Benneton driver accused Horner of disturbing the peace in the squad. He further claimed the British executive would ‘tear apart’ the team. In a recent revelation, Jos Verstappen had made shocking acquisitions on Horner. The Dutchman believes that the RBR boss was the reason for his exclusion from the Red Bull Legends parade.

The Red Bull mega event saw several former drivers lap around the Spielberg circuit. This legend’s parade had the name of Jos Verstappen, who was supposed to drive the 2012 RB8. However, Sr. Verstappen suddenly removed his name from the parade. Later, he revealed Horner was the reason behind this sudden change. This allegation has re-ignited the fire in Milton Keynes, which seemed under control until now. Further, when the media asked Verstappen to address the issue, he continued his verbal onslaught on Horner. The former racer called the RBR leader ‘childish’ as he doesn’t want Verstappen to be in the filmed video. Further, he feels like a kindergarten at Red Bull, as he feels Horner would have allowed him to drive at the back.

Moreover, PlanetF1 journalist Thomas Maher gave insight into the entire issue. He said Horner didn’t explicitly ask Red Bull to remove Verstappen. However, he made some queries with the organizers. His stance was against the exhibition race, as he wanted Verstappen to drive RB8 with the parent company. Nonetheless, this infuriated Sr. Verstappen, and he decided to remove his name.

A Red Bull representative told the media that all these allegations were false. He said Horner didn’t block Verstappen’s move. According to Mirror reports, Horner was not going out of his way to force the Dutchman to pull out.

Whether the truth remains a mystery will undoubtedly create new problems for the Milton Keynes-based outfit. Although the team recently emerged from all the miseries, this could again put it in a vulnerable spot.
