Juan Soto, the impeding New York Yankees free agent, will be a hot commodity during the 2025 off-season. The 25-year-old generational star will be asking no penny less than $500 million as his agent, Scott Boras, is determined to shatter all free agency records for his superficial client.

That being said, the New York Yankees are equally keen on extending Juan Soto for the right price. However, it’s still unclear that Soto would be willing to give up a free agency offer to stay in the Big Apple. Amid speculation, Yankee reliever and Soto’s teammate Tommy Kahnle shared insights on Juan’s experience in pinstripes.

After Hal Steinbrenner’s ‘unsustainable’ payroll comment, the New York Yankees fans essentially lost any tiny glimmer of hope for Juan Soto’s potential extension. The 25-year-old superstar slugger will be entering the free agent market next off-season with heavyweight teams like the New York Mets, LA Dodgers, and San Francisco Giants vying for his services. However, his current team, the Bronx Bombers, is yet to be completely ruled out courtesy to the fans. Juan Soto is absolutely loving playing in the Big Apple amidst the loudest cheers he’s ever heard at a ballpark in his life. His profound love for the team, fans, and the infamous ballpark might lure the slugger back to New York, as the fans would like to believe.

Meanwhile, New York Yankees relief pitcher and Juan Soto’s teammate Tommy Kahnle answered a query about Soto’s extension in his appearance on Foul Territory. Kahnle said he hopes Juan Soto stays as he is enjoying his time in New York. He sees the slugger getting along with the rest of the squad nicely on a daily basis. He has already formed a great bond with the team and is pretty much-having fun playing in the pinstripes. While Kahnle is eager to see Soto become a Yankee for life, he understands that the Dominican will make the right choice for himself next off-season. Indeed, the fans, as well as his teammates, have left no stone unturned in making Soto feel at home in New York this year. However, only time will tell if these efforts get rewarded into a long-term extension deal in 2025.

Soto Hit By Wild Pitch Vs Royals

As the New York Yankees secured the four-game series against Kansas City Royals on Wednesday, Juan Soto, the injury-returning outfielder, was hit by a wild pitch. Soto, who missed last week’s home series against the LA Dodgers with a forearm strain, made a comeback against the Royals on Monday after avoiding serious damage.

However, on Game 3, held on Wednesday at the Kauffman Stadium, Daniel Lynch’s wild high ball hit Juan Soto on the head as his helmet came off. He was awarded a walk, but Soto was unimpressed by Lynch’s unwarranted aggression. Eventually, the Yankees had the last laugh as they hammered the Royals once again with an 11-5 victory to seal the series.
