The infamous ‘sabotage’ plot isn’t over yet. With the Police department clarifying that no criminal offense was committed, Mercedes is resolute in finding the culprit. Thus, according to the Daily Mail, the Silver Arrows have hired a team of investigators to solve the mystery. On June 10th, all the F1 teams and media houses received an anonymous email claiming to be from a Mercedes employee. The email accused Mercedes of ‘sabotaging’ Hamilton and favoring George Russell over his teammate.

However, it all started in Monaco when Hamilton made a shocking revelation. During the post-race interview, the Briton said he could not outqualify teammate George Russell. His statement suggested the team favors Russell and undermines the seven-time world champion. Further, the fans speculated this could be due to Hamilton’s Ferrari move, and a row of cynical comments began. Thereupon, the Briton criticized the act and clarified there was no issue among the team. His teammate has also rejected the ‘sabotage’ theory, claiming it to be a false narrative.

Recently, in Spanish GP, Lewis Hamilton finally rediscovered his magical touch. As a result, the Briton finished on the podium for the 198th time in his F1 racing career. Thus, this discarded the ‘sabotage conspiracy theory’ against Mercedes, as the team is willing to provide a similar setup to both drivers. After Hamilton’s interview in Monaco, the ‘sabotage claims’ came to life. Also, when Russell used the new font wings in Monaco, the Mercedes team faced backlash. Although the team clarified that Hamilton offered the new setup to Russell, the hate continued. Later, the 39-year-old racer asserted that his tyres were below the temperature. He further complained that every set of tyres is two to three degrees colder. As a result, the F1 personnel received the email, accusing the Silver Arrows of ‘sabotaging Hamilton’ while preferring Russell over him.

However, the young British racer has opened up about the entire conundrum. Russell feels the whole narrative had been spun out of context to induce hate on the German Marque. Further, talking about Hamilyon’s Monaco statement, Russell said it was in the ‘heat of the moment.’ Moreover, the Briton claimed Hamilton knew that the Mercedes duo was getting the same treatment. While talking about his teammate, Russell said Hamilton is a winner, but his recent performance must have frustrated him. Thus, it was just pure emotions from a racer who has won almost every season. In the end, the statement was presented in such a way as to create a state of disturbance within the squad.
