LeBron James has been an inspiration to millions of aspiring basketball players. He may be 38 now, but during his 20th NBA season, the King performed better than several young players. He maintained an average of 27.0 points all throughout his NBA career. More importantly, James broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record to become the new leader.

On top of that, LeBron James scored 40+ points in a conference final game in 2023 to become the oldest player to do so in NBA history. However, that performance came in a losing cause. That is why, after the next season, James might ponder about his future in the league. But he might also wait for his son, Bronny, to get into the league and play alongside him for a while before he calls it quits. In a similar belief, the Lakers head coach Darvin Ham feels LeBron James can play till he is 50, looking at his fitness.

Recently in an interview with Sirius XM Radio, coach Darvin Ham praised his team’s gem LeBron James for the way he takes care of himself. According to Ham, if anybody can play till 50, that’s James. The coach further expressed that he is in awe of the routine of LeBron James. According to him, James takes extensive care of his nutrition, sleeping habits, pre-season and post-season workouts. He also maintains such discipline not just to be healthy but to stay as an elite player in the league.

Perhaps due to this level of discipline, LeBron James has not been showing many signs of slowing down. It is true that he missed a month’s game due to a tendon injury, but he returned stronger than ever. Hence, the Lakers Nation will hope that James can help them get to their 18th title next season. If he can perform the same way as last season or even better, then the team will have a chance to clinch the title next year.

The new eventual champions Denver Nuggets, blew the Los Angeles Lakers away 4-0 in the Western Conference Finals. It was humiliating and disappointing for the Lakers Nation but especially for LeBron James. He performed so well in the season, which was apparently the last chance for the King to win his 5th title. But it ended on a disappointing note. Later, LeBron James gave a couple of retirement hints which wreaked havoc in the media.

There were tensions among the fans and the team about the King’s future. Albeit, in terms of age and longevity, James has played the game professionally for a really long time. Clearly, it is not yet time to retire, looking at his fitness and goals. However, after the front office did a good job in the free agency, LeBron James sent love to all his teammates, old and new. Moreover, on July 12 at the ESPYs, he announced that he would definitely play the next season for the Lakers. Anyway, in his current contract with Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron still has a year to go.
