The drama surrounding Aaron Judge\’s free agency has been neverending for more than a month now. For the majority of the time, his previous team, the New York Yankees, has been the frontrunner in the race to acquire the slugger. However, Judge\’s home team, SF Giants, is not letting Judge go to the Bombers that easily. Recently, there has been a lot of buzz about Judge potentially landing with the Giants. And the buzz has inspired a reaction from the Yankees manager Aaron Boone.
Aaron Boone Reacts To Rumors Of Aaron Judge Joining The Giants!
The San Francisco Giants have been neck to neck with the Yankees in the race to sign Aaron Judge. Last month the baseman met with the team working day and night to acquire the AL MVP of the year. It was followed by NBA stars like Chris Mullen and Steph Curry appealing Judge to come to the Giants. More recently, the MLB arena has been bubbled with rumors of Judge going to the Giants after the team offered him a gigantic $360 million deal.
As of now, nothing has been confirmed about Judge going to the Giants and leaving the Bombers. But Yankees manager Aaron Boone recently reacted to the whisper. Eventually, Boone shared the same reaction as the rest of the team\’s supporters. He was stunned by this unexpected news and instantly sought proof. The captain had just exited the shower and was ready to speak with the media at the Winter Meetings in San Diego. At that point, he became aware of a rumor swirling on social media that Aaron Judge would end up with the Giants in free agency.
Few signs have also surfaced regarding Judge\’s thoughts as the free agency market again heats up. The slugging outfielder\’s hometown team, the Giants, has reportedly offered him a $360 million contract, according to The Post\’s Jon Heyman. Meanwhile, according to ESPN\’s Jeff Passan last week, the Yankees offered their local star a contract worth in the vicinity of $300 million over eight years. Aaron Judge-related rumors were addressed by Boone, who revealed that he had nothing to do with them. He further added that GM Brian Cashman would be the better person to ask the question.
Boone continued by describing the situation as awkward. He acknowledged that there are many questions regarding the Yankees\’ negotiating position with Judge. On Monday, Cashman made similar implications. He said that New York\’s offseason spending had been delayed while they continue to pursue a renewal with Judge. That New York Post article by Jon Heyman\’s story has subsequently been updated. Heyman expressed regret for acting hastily and for one careless tweet during the Winter Meetings that led to some stressful situations and a clear response.
