The star slugger, Aaron Judge, the face of the $7 billion baseball franchise, New York Yankees, is witnessing a stellar run in the ongoing 2023 season. In 49 appearances, he has hit .291 with 19 home runs and 40 RBIs in total. What’s more surprising and inspiring at the same time is that Judge has managed to get these numbers despite missing 10 days on IL. The 2022 MVP also remains at the top of the home run chart, just behind Mets’ Pete Alonso.

It’s no less than a miracle for a baseball player to have two successive offensive seasons. However, for Aaron Judge, the sky is the limit. More than being an offensive leader in the lineup, Judge has displayed glimpses of his sheer athleticism on the field as well. His recent catch during the Dodgers games has left the baseball fraternity in absolute awe, including his teammate and Yankees ace, Gerrit Cole, who showered praises on his captain.

The New York Yankees took on the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three-game series over the weekend. After losing the series opener, the visiting team gave a befitting reply by winning the series. On the other hand, the Yankees captain, Aaron Judge, stole the show on Saturday with a display of his level of commitment towards the sport. During the eighth inning, Judge pulled off a sensational catch despite crashing into the fence. However, the play was ruled out as his one leg remained beyond the fence door at the time of the throw. Regardless, the fans and analysts alike applauded the slugger for his efforts and commitment on the field.

Meanwhile, Aaron Judge’s teammate and Yankees ace Gerrit Cole has heaped praises on the captain. In the post-game presser, Cole said that Aaron Judge stole the show in the series despite the presence of some brilliant players in the opposition. He outperformed them all to come out on top. The pitcher further added that, in his opinion, he sees no weakness in Judge’s overall game. He is a perfect slugger and an even better outfielder. Gerrit Cole signed off, saying that he feels extremely grateful to have a player like Aaron Judge by his side on the team.

Aaron Judge has earned the respect of baseball fans through his recent field play against the Dodgers. The outfielder crashed into the bullpen door of the Dodgers stadium while attempting a catch. He stumbled but avoided a fall and completed the play. While the play was ruled out due to technical reasons, Judge earned huge praises for his commitment. He also injured his toe in the process, which led to his absence from Sunday’s series finale.

Meanwhile, his Yankees teammate, Gerrit Cole, has appreciated Aaron Judge’s guts for pulling off such kind of a dangerous play. He says for a great player like Judge to take a hard blow on the wall is concerning on so many levels. But Cole remains in awe of the captain’s guts considering the risk factors attached to that play. That being said, the threat still looms as the slugger is scheduled to undergo tests for an alleged toe injury.
