As the first quarter of the F1 season concluded at the Monaco GP, Mercedes had scored 96 points, marking a challenging period for the team. Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari in 2025 was a shocker amidst Mercedes’ struggles since 2022, where victory has remained elusive. Once synonymous with triumph in the 2010s, Mercedes’ performance has faltered despite high hopes for their 2024 project. Both George Russell and Lewis Hamilton express disappointment over the lack of speed in the W15, which is evident in their failure to clinch top finishes this season.

However, things might get easy for the eight-time Constructors champions as the developments are heading in the right direction. Despite heavy scrutiny, George Russell has backed his team ahead of a busy weekend. Moreover, he took a sly dig at the rival’s inability to win the world title.

Mercedes team is on the verge of losing the ‘elite team title.’ The ground-effect regulations have been a harbinger of misfortune for the team as their technical grief intensified. Withal stated that eight and sixteen years are significantly longer than three years. It shows that the team’s manager completely trusts his players as they attempt to make a comeback.

Similarly, Mercedes driver Russell backed his team principal while asking the opposition a few tough questions. He said teh Silver Arrows have endured immense criticism during the slump period. Moreover, every team undergoes a patchy phase as challenges come along. Further, the Briton shifted his attention to the rivals, pointing out Ferrari’s inability to compete for the World Championship title. In the end, Russell said this is how F1 works: it is ‘bloody challenging,’ and the team is making progress every weekend.
