Sadly, Mercedes ace Lewis Hamilton has not been able to win a single Formula One race in the last two years. Naturally, it has been a very frustrating journey for the seven-time champion since 2022. First of all, he just came out after a huge loss in the 2021 Abu Dhabi GP, losing out the title to Max Verstappen. Later, the whole 2022 year saw Hamilton even lose out to his new teammate George Russell.

It was even worse than not being able to win a single race that season. Albeit, 2022 was the first season in Hamilton’s career that ended without a win. However, the former F1 racer believes if any driver possesses the ability to end the streak of Max Verstappen in the current grid, that’s Hamilton.

As per a column Albers wrote for De Telegraaf, the Dutch former driver hopes to see Mercedes come with a better car this year as a neutral observer. In terms of qualities, Albers believes Lewis Hamilton is the only driver who can come close to Max Verstappen. Moreover, Albers explained that he was talking about consistency and stability in case of lap times during a Grand Prix. Christijan Albers believes Lewis Hamilton is the only driver other than Hamilton who can manage the tires really wonderfully. Moreover, Lewis Hamilton can assess certain situations and feel the rubber better than anyone.

But then, when the car doesn’t perform or allows the driver to get the best out, it can be really frustrating. Albers feels that as well. Moreover, the former Dutch racer said Lewis Hamilton used to beat everybody once upon a time, but now those days are over. Two seasons saw the seven-time champion remain winless. It is really going to eat Hamilton, feels Albers. Moreover, Mercedes is not helping Hamilton in any way to boost that he really needed for a while. Additionally, Lewis Hamilton must feel tired and exhausted as Mercedes is not going any faster.

This Mercedes star has won a record 103 GPs in his career so far. No other driver has even touched 100 Grand Prix wins in F1’s history. Lewis Hamilton dominated the “Pinnacle of Motorsports” in the last decade. But this legend of the sport is not able to win a single race coming to the fag end of his career. It is a shame because Hamilton is not the one who deserves the blame. Moreover, it has been the Mercedes car that has been letting Hamilton and his fans down since 2022.

It was the unique but horrible zero sidepod concept that ruined the hegemony for Mercedes. That’s what the rival Red Bull team used to their full advantage. Since the cost cap era began, the Austrian outfit has been producing the fastest car every year. In the process, Max Verstappen just keeps getting unstoppable. At 39, it seems really hard for Lewis Hamilton to beat the Dutchman, who’s in the best phase of his career in terms of sheer dominance.
