FIA Warns Lewis Hamilton To Focus On His Degrading Driving Rather Than Protesting For “Personal Agenda”

Lewis Hamilton was under the radar for a long time but now gets a direct accusation from the FIA. The big boss, Mohammed ben Sulayem, requests the former champion not to divert the atmosphere in the F1 motorsport. Every weekend Hamilton campaigns to protest against racism by making the drivers kneel as a sign of protest. After this came to FIA’s attention, it certainly did not sit well with the governing body. The President has urged Hamilton to stop using the game for his gain. The President believes that the racers will lose concentration on their game if this continues.

FIA Issues Warning For Lewis Hamilton Regarding New Rule

The FIA has banned any political statements in the upcoming season. The governing body does not want the racing platform to express anyone’s religious-political beliefs. FIA feels there are other platforms to do these kinds of campaigns, not the racing tracks. The President says, “Let the drivers (Lewis Hamilton) do what they do best. They are Superstars because they are so good. Don’t bring politics around the racing tracks.”

The President added that sports are good for spreading peace, not for someone’s agenda. If the drivers want any change or message delivered, they can come directly to FIA. People who are part of this game can go through the whole process in FIA to express themselves. According to the chief, everybody is welcome to come to FIA but shouldn’t use the race for personal vendetta, which was clearly directed towards Lewis Hamilton.

The President urges the drivers not to divert their own attention on to anything else than driving. They are the reason why this business thrives; after all, they are the show. Any comment or statement that can violate the neutrality of Formula One will not be appreciated. Bosses need to approve in writing for any exception, and only then can it be allowed.

Lewis Hamilton with his fellow racers protesting against racism

Lewis Hamilton is famous for starting these types of campaigns against racism. Slogans like “Black Lives Matter,” “End Racism,” “Actions Speak louder than Words,” and “We race as one” are part of some of the most well-known campaigns that the Mercedes star popularized in the F1 universe.

Lewis Hamilton made this fight against racism a mission of his life; moreover, he called this a “lifelong” battle. Hamilton, back in 2020, mentioned, “if there is any injustice, then I’ll talk about it. I’m not going to give up on fighting against these evils.”

Although back in 2021, Hamilton agreed that change was necessary regarding his style of campaigning by using diplomacy rather than “embarrassing some people.”

Hamilton’s Protest Back In 2020

Protesting against social injustice, crime, or evil, is not something people see Lewis Hamilton do for the first time. To mark a protest against murder in 2020, Hamilton wore a t-shirt in support of the victim.

The lines written on the shirt were, “Arrest the cops who killed Breonna Taylor.” Furthermore, on the back of his t-shirt, the words “Say her name,” were written with a picture of the murdered woman. FIA took measures by changing the event notes. Moreover made sure that such incidents did not occur again.
