Steve Kerr has been the head coach of the San Francisco-based Golden State Warriors for a decade now. Clearly, this journey has had a significant impact not just on the Dub Nation but also on the whole NBA. Since he has been the Dubs coach, the team has won four titles in eight years. Now, the question is if they can win five in ten years. But in 2024, the Dubs, in general, have really struggled a lot. If it was not for the bad start, they could have been in a much better place right now.

Currently, they are trying to solidify their place at number 10 in the Western Conference. If they had a good start, they could have been in the top six. But now the Warriors are trying their best to confirm their spot in the play-in tournament. They can very well do that now as the team who’s their biggest threat, the Houston Rockets, just got blown away by the Dubs. Moreover, the Golden State Warriors won 133-110 on Thursday night. This win made the Dubs coach really happy.

Steve Kerr Said, “Win Against Rockets Was One Of My Favorite Games In 10 Years”

After the Warriors blew away the Houston Rockets 133-110, a reporter asked Steve Kerr if this win reminded him of the epic 2019 semifinal clash in Houston when Stephen Curry scored 33 points in the second half. Later, in the post-game interview, Steve Kerr could not hold his joy after watching his team overcome all obstacles to win the very important clash with the Rockets. But he did talk about that win in the 2019 semifinal. The Dubs coach mentioned that it has been one of his most favorite games in the last decade. Kerr remembered Stephen Curry going pointless in the first half and then obviously came back really strong in the second half.

It was even more memorable because the Dubs were playing without Kevin Durant. Hence, Steve Kerr was really proud of his boys, considering all the circumstances they faced back then. Moreover, Kerr also talked about the epic rivalry they had with the Rockets all these years. However, he also gave a thump up to the Rockets for rebuilding and becoming a stronger team. Anyhow, coming back to 2024, the Rockets are still a challenge for the Golden State Warriors. The seven-time champions are still somehow hanging as the 10th seed, and the Rockets are right there as the 11th seed.

The Splash Brothers were at their best against the Rockets on Thursday. Klay Thompson put on a clinical shooting show, scoring 29 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. On the other hand, Steph did not have much luck from the deep. But the three-point King did manage to score 29 points, 9-14, from the field.

Anyhow, this big win dealt a heavy blow to the Rocket’s chances of making the play-in spot. However, there are only six games remaining in the regular season. Can the Dubs hold their nerves to see themselves through to the play-in stage? Or the Rockets can pull off a miracle. Anything can happen. The fans and the teams better watch out.
