The Los Angeles Lakers are rocking their boat in the league because of unfortunate injuries in the team. And increased injury in the game after every game has led to numerous rumors in the market. LA was already eyed because of their bad performances in the league and the lack of support cast around LeBron James and Anthony Davis. But with players getting sidelined every month, the Lakers will be forced to bring in players. Their last game outing against the table-topper Denver Nuggets displayed the lack of players in the locker room.

The Lakers have been quite poor regarding roster management in the last two years. The loss against the Nuggets resulted from six players missing the roster because of various injuries. Although the collected team managed to perform, they were out-skilled by the Western Conference leaders. The massive difference in the scoring of 122-109 completely justifies the story of the game. Meanwhile, the Lakers were supposed to bring two free agents for the workout. But nothing official has come since the start of this year.

Lakers Could Welcome Two Free Agents

The 18-time All-star indirectly expressed his wish for LA’s front office to bring changes to the roster. Even without mentioning it is quite clear that the Lakers squad is not the title contender. But the front office has always been a little laid back in their decision-making. At some points, it has paid them well, but halfway in the league could be the time to bring urgency to the trade process. Meanwhile, Hollywood was welcoming two free agents for the tryouts with the team, but nothing official came from the franchise. An addition to the squad could really help the team bring positive shifts.

According to various sources, LA is on talking terms with DeMarcus Cousins and Meyers Leonard. But both the players have missed action on the court since 2021. The ex-Miami Heat player, Meyers Leonard, parted ways with his team because of anti-semitic comments. Ever since then, he has been a free agent. However, seeing the news flipped the fans leading the discussion to Twitter. Fans believe the Lakers are very desperate for the move, and Hollywood might not be the place for him to start again.

Meanwhile, the Lakers have dropped back to the 13th league position in their conference following two back-to-back losses. The Lakers have one of the most threatening centers, Anthony Davis, on the team, but he is sidelined due to his stress foot fracture. And their downsizing has led them to make desperate decisions to enlarge their squad. The Lakers had six players out in the game against the Nuggets due to injury problems. Following the circumstances, the Lakers do not look like playoff material. If they fail to do so, it would be a terrible waste for the aging LeBron James.
