New York Yankees pitcher Domingo German had a difficult outing in a game against the Cleveland Guardians on April 10.

Domingo German has been with the New York Yankees since 2014 and has had both success and controversy during his tenure with the team. He has a career record of 4.40 ERA and 437 strikeouts. His form went on downhill after he faced a suspension in 2020 for violating MLB’s personal ethic code. Since then, he has spent most of his time in the minor league.

Meanwhile, this season, he entered spring training with the hope of breaking it into the starting rotation. He auditioned for the fifth starter’s role in the aftermath of Frankie Montas’ injury. However, due to repeated injuries, German climbed his way into the rotation and made a start pretty early in the season. Despite all odds working together for him, the pitcher has been unable to make the most of these opportunities.

Domingo German Storms Off After A Horrible Outing, Face Intense Criticism

The New York Yankees starting pitcher, Domingo German, made his second start of the season on Monday against the Cleveland Guardians. German, who has been the first-choice fifth starter of the Bombers, has failed to live up to the opportunity. Further, he was the main culprit of the last night’s 2-3 loss against the Guardians. He could only last three innings and gave away two hits, one run, five walks, and zero strikeouts in 87 pitches. And to make the matter worse, German furiously stormed off the field and threw his cap on the ground in frustration.

The fans certainly did not take it well and bashed the pitcher for the same. A few Twitter users wrote that Domingo German should be displeased with himself after the horrific show. On the other hand, the pitcher faced the grilling questions of the media and termed his performance “terrible.” German was at a complete loss for words and couldn’t come up with an appropriate answer. However, the manager, Aaron Boone, has backed Domingo and said it’s just one of those nights where nothing goes right for you. Moreover, Boone stayed hopeful of a befitting comeback from the Dominican native in the near future.

Yankee Fans Await Carlos Rodon, Luis Severino’s Return

Amid the horror show of Domingo Germana and Clarke Schmidt, the fans eagerly await the return of key injured pitchers Carlos Rodon and Luis Severino. Both starters suffered injuries during spring and have been out of action ever since. While both threw successful bullpen sessions, no timeline remains set for a return. In their absence, the depth has been nothing but horrific on the mound.

Meanwhile, the fans have suggested the Yankees keep Jhony Brito in the pitching mix after Carlos Rodon and Luis Severino returns. Brito had an extraordinary debut and was called up again from the minor in a few days. The fans, critics, and the team’s coaching staff alike are happy with the pitcher and want him to be a part of the team for the entire season.
