Formula One has witnessed some of the finest talents in motorsport, and Lewis Hamilton is undoubtedly one of them. From his remarkable start with McLaren to his dominant reign at Mercedes, the British driver has solidified his position as a sport icon. As he prepares to move to Ferrari, many believe his legacy will continue for years to come. With over 80 victories and six world championships with Mercedes, Hamilton’s status as a legend in F1 is well-deserved.

Sadly, he might not win any more races in his iconic silver-black racing suit. The Briton has expressed his desire to finish the Mercedes stint on a high note. However, the remaining seven rounds are on tracks that don’t suit the W15. Thus, Toto Wolff warned the team they might struggle in the remaining races.

After George Russell’s victory at the 2024 Austrian Grand Prix, Toto Wolff assured Lewis Hamilton that he would secure at least one more win during his tenure with Mercedes. This promise was fulfilled just one race later at Silverstone, breaking Hamilton’s nearly 1,000-day winless streak. Although Hamilton finished second at Spa, he was awarded the win after his teammate’s disqualification.

Recently, Wolff has observed that McLaren and Ferrari have been gaining momentum, and he now questions how many more races Mercedes can expect to contend at the front. Traditionally, Mercedes has performed well at circuits like Barcelona, Silverstone, and Spa. Looking ahead, the Mercedes chief sees Austin as a promising opportunity but notes that there are few remaining tracks where Mercedes historically excels.

Moreover, the Austrian executive highlighted the intense competition among the top teams, noting that performance gaps are often narrow—just a few tenths a second. Factors like car balance, tire management, and aerodynamics can greatly influence race outcomes. He pointed out that Ferrari was particularly strong in Singapore last year and anticipates that they will be competitive again alongside Red Bull, McLaren, and Mercedes. With these four closely matched teams, Wolff expects a highly competitive race at the Singapore Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton Criticizes FIA President Over Alleged “Racial Remarks”

In an interview with Autosport ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem addressed the language issue in motorsport. He clearly distinguished between motorsport and rap music, emphasizing that the two should not be conflated. Ben Sulayem noted that while rap music often features frequent use of strong language, motorsport is different and should not be associated with such expressions.

Lewis Hamilton responded to Ben Sulayem’s comments by criticizing the choice of words used. Hamilton expressed concern that Ben Sulayem’s reference to rappers could perpetuate negative stereotypes, particularly since many rappers are Black. He felt that the comparison implied a racial undertone, suggesting that the choice of words was inappropriate and could be seen as discriminatory. Hamilton acknowledged that in his younger years, he might not have considered the impact of his own language as much, but now he recognizes the importance of being mindful of how words can affect others, especially younger audiences.
