Red Bull dominated the last two F1 seasons. They have been on an unprecedented run in the sport. In 2022, the Austrian outfit won an impressive 17 races in a sheer dominating style. If that was impressive, then what about what happened last season? In 2023, Christian Horner’s team went on an unbelievable run of 21 wins in 22 races. Some F1 fans can claim the Austrian team is making the sport look boring. But it is just the sheer dominance of Max Verstappen and Red Bull’s superior car that makes them so strong. Clearly, there’s no better driver to handle the superior Red Bull car than the Dutchman. Max Verstappen proved that he is consistent and ever-improving.

He won the 2021 Driver’s Championship after an epic fight against the former champion Lewis Hamilton. Later, in the next two seasons, no driver stood a chance against the Dutch sensational racer. In 2022, the Red Bull star won 15 races breaking the previous record of 13 wins by Sebastian Vettel and Michael Schumacher in separate seasons. Later, last year, Verstappen won an impeccable 19 GPs. That record would be hard to break even for Max Verstappen himself. However, it seems Red Bull is ready with an even better and superior car ahead of the 2024 season.

Recently, in an interview with PlanetF1.com, Christian Horner mentioned that the team is making progress as far as meeting targets are concerned. The Red Bull boss noted that they don’t have a lot of pre-season testing these days. Hence, the Milton Keynes team has a lot to focus on to achieve their goals. Ahead of the new season, the planning stage in the factory presents always a busy time in the year. Moreover, the Red Bull boss added that the drivers in the simulations mentioned it is “Evolution and not revolution.”

However, at the end of the day, it is still a simulator and a virtual world. But Horner feels optimistic because, over the last two years, the correlation between the simulator and the track has been pretty reasonable. Moreover, Christian Horner emphasized that they are making progress and that the stopwatch never lies. However, even Horner knows that results will only be out when they get to the track. Moreover, the Red Bull boss said the new car has big shoes to fill. After all, the RB19 has been the most successful car in F1’s history.

The Red Bull boss said there are always things in the business that people learn every day. Last year, they had their most successful year. But Horner feels there were things in RB19 that the team needed to improve. Clearly, the Singaporean Grand Prix last year was a big wake-up call for the most dominant team in the grid. Horner added that the team focused on the improvements that they needed to make in the design phase over the winter.

Moreover, the Red Bull boss mentioned it is impossible to quantify at the moment. There can be some other team that might make a leapfrog, and Horner fears they might get three-tenths behind then. Moreover, he said it is quite subjective at this point. Anyway, the Red Bull boss is looking forward to a great season ahead.
