The New York Yankees has always been a home to some of the mega baseball superstars that graced the franchise in the past century. From Babe Ruth to Mickey Mantle to Roger Maris to Derek Jeter, the list is never ending. However, for the longest time, the Yanks haven’t had a powerful hitting duo.

The last historic slugging duo to exist were Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris as they together changed the face of New York Yankees. Nevertheless, it seems that Yanks wait for their next dynamic and historic duo has ended with Aaron Judge and Juan Soto taking over the reigns.

The New York Yankees have always been synonymous with baseball greatness. Their current roster boasts a historic hitting pair of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto. Soto’s trade acquisition was a blockbuster move that sent shockwaves through MLB this off-season. Moreover, his transition to the Bronx has been seamless, immediately making an impact with his powerful bat and a keen eye for the strike zone. On the other hand, Aaron Judge, the captain, has been the face of the Yankees for several seasons. His leadership, both on and off the field, has been instrumental in the team’s recent successes. Having said that, this season, together, Judge and Soto form a duo that is unprecedented in franchise history. Statistically, the Judge-Soto duo is rewriting the record book.

Juan Soto is currently on pace to finish the season with  42 home runs, 129 RBI, and 117 runs scored, whereas Aaron Judge can attain  51 home runs with 117 RBI and 111 runs scored. When combined, the duo can end up driving in 250 runs together with 90 homers in total, which is no less than a video game number. If the duo maintains the same pace, the New York Yankees’ qualification into the World Series is inevitable. Indeed, the future looks incredibly bright for the Yanks, with Judge and Soto leading the charge, given that the front office manages to secure Soto for the long-term next off-season. Regardless, for this season, the Yanks’ odds to end the 14-year-long championship drought are the highest in recent past. With ace Gerrit Cole returning to the roster, the Bombers will soon pose one of the deadliest and most feared rosters in MLB.

While Aaron Judge’s resurgence in May has been nuclear, Juan Soto has been the one with more consistency has he took responsibility when Judge was having an abysmally slow start. And the Yankee captain definitely acknowledges that effort as he believes Soto’s more locked in compared to him.

“You know, batting along some tough pitches, taking some great swings, so it’s entertaining,” Aaron Judge said about Juan Soto’s continued success on the plate. He added that each time Soto walks to the batter’s box, the fans and teammates expect something special. And the generational star never fails to disappoint with his swing, which is of extraordinary quality.
