Looks like Red Bull driver Sergio Perez is paying the price for being the teammate of two-time world Champion Max Verstappen. Many drivers in the past spoke about the issues they faced being teammates with the current champion. For instance, Pierre Gasly and Daniel Ricciardo did not feel comfortable in the Red Bull team when they had such a tough competitor who was also their teammate. The Dutchman easily overshadows any teammate he had after coming to Formula One.

On the other hand, Sergio Perez started the season pretty well, winning two races in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Baku, Azerbaijan. However, he has fallen really down since the Miami Grand Prix as he has lost all consistency and has let his teammate gain a huge lead over him. Checo could win the title this year if he had lived up to the expectations. However, Perez is still number two in the Driver’s World title. But he can lose it, too, if he continues being inconsistent. Many fans and media experts also believe that Red Bull has provided a superior car to Max Verstappen. But looks like some new angle has come up in this internal Red Bull drama. Check out!

Recently, team Red Bull came under scrutiny for providing a different car to Checo than his teammate Verstappen. Although Sergio Perez denied these allegations saying, “We drive the same car.” F1 expert Peter Windsor also explained that no team would sabotage one car to help one driver when they want to win the constructors title. Hence, these allegations that Red Bull is favoring Max Verstappen with a better car are totally false.

However, the F1 expert believes the Mexican media is backing Perez in every way they can, but he won’t say much. Peter noted that Sergio would fan the flames quietly in the background. According to him, Checo is fueling the Mexican media against the current double-time champion, who is on his way to winning his third title. On top of that, Windsor can’t imagine a team deliberately compromising a car’s performance to sabotage a driver’s chances. But if the car is the same, then Sergio Perez has a lot of questions to answer regarding his driving abilities.

Max Verstappen: The Epitome Of Success

It did not take much time for Red Bull to identify the skills and talents of the Dutchman. Later, Verstappen became the youngest driver to win a Formula 1 race at the age of 18 years, 7 months, and 15 days. Since then, he never looked back and kept gaining a reputation as the most ruthless driver on the grid. However, it took him a while to win his first title back in 2021.

But once he did, it was quite apparent. Everybody knew that he was going to become a driver who’s among the greats of all time. If he continues with his present momentum for a longer period, he will break countless records. Moreover, the Dutchman has already surpassed the great Ayrton Senna’s Grand Prix win tally. On top of that, he currently holds the record for most wins in a season, which he accomplished last season. But this year, he can break his own record.
