Former baseball shortstop, Alex Rodriguez, has been in the news for the wrong reasons these days. Recently, he engaged in a war of words with his former teammate after the latter passed vicious comments on A-Rod’s future. Now, the former Yankee has made a startling revelation that has sent shockwaves through the entire baseball community. Making his routine appearance on the CBS Mornings show, Alex revealed that he had been diagnosed with gum disease. He said he went to the dentist for a routine checkup without any expectations. But, when the dentist informed him of the diagnosis, he was caught off-guard.

Rodriguez revealed that he did not have any information about the alleged gum disease. So, he did some research at home later and found out that it’s very common, and over 65 million Americans suffer from it. A-Rod also went on to urge every citizen of America who falls above the age category of 30 to get regular checkups. Since it’s an early stage for Rodriguez, the disease remains curable with appropriate medical attention. As a prominent figure, Rodriguez’s openness about his gum disease diagnosis brings attention to the importance of oral health. His story highlights the need for regular dental checkups, regardless of one’s personal or professional commitments.

Alex Rodriguez shared the dressing room with multiple high-end baseball players in his two-decade-long career. He made a lot of friends and enemies as well. However, it hurts when someone who you thought was a well-wisher goes on to say some nasty things about you on national television. A similar case happened to happen with A-Rod. His former high school and Yankees teammate, Doug Mientkiewicz, remained upset with Alex for staying distant from his high schoolmates. Doug quoted saying, ” Alex would die a lonely man.”

The former baseball shortstop has finally responded to the comments. He said everyone in this world remains entitled to an opinion. You will always have people around whom to like and whom you don’t. But A-Rod would certainly not go around saying inappropriate things about his former teammates in the open forum, especially not his high school buddies. The former Yankees legend also added that he was surprised as well as shocked at the same time to hear such things from Doug. Nonetheless, he remains disinterested in carrying this issue forward.
