Christian Horner

When you say you are a fan of Formula One, they say you have got rich taste. This motorsport is known for its fascinating, rich facilities, making it one of the most expensive sports in the world, that needed a budget cap basically in order to save money. A fan is always curious to know how much a driver gets for driving in a team. We know that Lewis Hamilton is the richest driver at present, with $285 million worth a $50 million per year salary. Speaking of Mercedes boss Toto Wolff, he has a total of $540 million. This is way higher than what his Formula One counterpart has. Do you know that in the million-speaking sport, there is someone who lives a not-so-rich life?

Today, let\’s talk about Red Bull\’s boss Christian Edward Johnston Horner, born on 16 November 1973, who has a net worth of only $50 million despite being the principal of the most dominant team of Formula One (at present). Becoming the youngest ever F1 team principal in 2005 with Red Bull, Horner gave 18 years of his life to leading Red Bull from the ground to the roof. He also became the first principal to serve for the most extended period in Formula one in the same role. Even with this loyalty to Red Bull, Christian Horner could not make a stake of his name like Toto Wolff did in Mercedes.

Christian Horner, Not Like His Rival Toto Wolff In Terms Of Bank Balance and Rich Lifestyle

The past two years is bringing luck to the Austrian Motor racing team. In 2021, Max Verstappen broke the duck of the driver\’s championship in Red Bull after seven years. And in 2022 the team was rewarded with the Constructor\’s win along with the drivers after eight years. Indeed, it was Christian Horner who kept the patience that brought fruit, a sweet fruit.

The British principal gets only $10 million per year for his role in Red Bull. And so far, there has been no other way of earning. No sponsorships have been found in his pocket. The one thing Christian Horner must be a part of is the team\’s entities, but unfortunately, he is not. The Milton-Keynes-based team was and is owned by no other than Chaleo Yoovidhya, who died in 2012. And, Dietrich Mateschitz, who died last year during the 2022 F1 season. This has been a huge tragedy for the entire team. They together established the great motor sporting team in 1987.

However, after the death of the team\’s founder Red Bull has only two entities, Chalerm, son of Yoovdhiya, who gets 51% of the stake, worth $24.7 million. And the second stakeholder is now Mark Mateschitz, who gets the rest 49%. But not a single percent of the stake goes to Horner\’s name. Among the many aspects that differ both the rivals, Toto Wolff and Christian Horner, one is their affluent lifestyle. Wolff, who is not just a boss but the CEO of Mercedes, holds 33% of the stake. But Horenr, who is just the team\’s principal, has no other source of income from Formula One rather than getting paid for his role in Red Bull.
