“DJ LeMahieu Has To Offer A Lot More To The Yankees Lineup,” Claims MLB Analyst

DJ LeMahieu has remained one of the most consistent hitters in baseball over the past few seasons. His impact on the New York Yankees cannot be overstated. The 33-year-old infielder has been a model of consistency for the Yankees since signing with the team prior to the 2019 season. Moreover, his presence has helped to stabilize a lineup that has been plagued by injuries and inconsistency.

Last season, the Yankees immensely missed the services of DJ LeMahieu during the postseason. The infielder incurred a toe injury which ended his season prematurely. Moreover, DJ went against the doctor’s advice of surgery and healed naturally through rehab. The gamble paid off as he came back to spring with improved hitting abilities. Recently, an MLB insider weighed in on DJ’s impact on the Yankees lineup and also disclosed a startling statistical revelation.

DJ LeMhaieu, the New York Yankees baseman, is off to a flying start in the 2023 MLB season. So far, he has hit .250 with two home runs and seven RBIs. While he did face injury concerns last week, the baseman and the Bombers’ management termed it a minor issue. Meanwhile, DJ dropped down from his leadoff spot to fifth down the order in the wake of Giancarlo Stanton’s hamstring injury. Even there, he showed enough offensive power. Hence, MLB insider Jon Morosi feels DJ is the Barometer of the Yankees lineup this season.

Jon Morosi calculated LeMahieu’s impact on the Yankees lineup. He read a stat that said that when DJ LeMahieu scores an RBI, the team wins more than 70% of the time. Jon suggests that DJ is the ultimate utility man, which has been underused by the Yankees. In the wake of fresh injuries, the fans would get to know what the infielder is capable of. Not only that, Morosi even went on to say that DJ’s contributions are often overshadowed due to Aaron Judge’s brilliance. But this season, the infielder could likely get past all the big names of the lineup. Let’s hope Jon’s analysis comes true and DJ LeMahieu indeed gets the Bombers the ultimate World Series trophy.

DJ LeMahieu received his 2022 Golden Glove award on the field before the match-up between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels. DJ, along with Jose Trevino, collected their respective awards from the MLB officials. Despite an injury-plagued season, LeMahieu managed to put up impressive offensive numbers. In 125 appearances, the infielder hit .261 with 12 home runs and 46 RBIs in total.

LeMahieu’s impact on the New York Yankees goes beyond his on-field production. He is largely regarded as one of the best clubhouse leaders in baseball, and his work ethic and professionalism have been a positive influence on his teammates. Hence, this year, the infielder is likely to play a key role in the Yankees’ quest for a World Series title.
