The Los Angeles Lakers are shorthanded because of consistent injuries in the locker room. Good for the Lakers that they have an experimental head coach who would try different things before giving up. This is Darvin Ham’s first shot at coaching an NBA, and he has got one of the most reputed franchises in NBA history. Although the Lakers have shown great character to still be in the league, they have been unlucky in many circumstances. And these circumstances have caused them to try different combinations on the court. Yet again, LA’s boss is back with more solutions.

The Athletic’s Jovan Buha suggests that the first-timer head coach Ham could have different plans for Davis when he returns. At this moment, AD is nowhere close to returning to the court, but once he is capable, Darvin will assign new roles to him. The lineup would include all the Lakers lineup players, such as LeBron James pairing with Thomas Bryant. Meanwhile, Thomas Bryant, an emerging player catching everyone’s eye, will also make his way with the two superstars.

The Lakers Head Coach Is A Man With A Plan

Darvin Ham

The Lakers have always envisioned Anthony Davis as their starting center, despite him not being a traditional seven-footer. There have been many occasions when he has told that his original position is at four. But Darvin’s team lacks the luxury of good players at every position, which makes them adapt to the situation. Nonetheless, Davis is still among the elite in the big man category when he is healthy. But for the most part of the year, Anthony’s injury is the most concerning topic for the Lakers. The Lakers’ power forward has only played half the total games in the combined two years.

Meanwhile, pairing Thomas Bryant with LeBron James could make the frontcourt dynamic for the team. Recently, Bryant has been impressive, putting up points for the team in need. He could be a decent replacement for Davis, as the 29-year-old tends to miss important games of the year. And if the Lakers are eyeing the spot in playoffs, they can not take it lightly from here on. Although there is some good news about Davis’ return, he is still in recovery. However, the Lakers will hope that their new plan will work wonders or at least keep them floating until Anthony makes a return.

Lakers

Since Anthony suffered his foot injury, the Laker forward LeBron James has been relentless on the court. He also received player of the week for his back to back 40 points performances. James has been crucial for the Lakers and was massively missed in the game against the Denver Nuggets. However, the 18-time All-star is expected to return in the next game. Meanwhile, the Lakers have been very effective at home and have five consecutive upcoming home games.
