Cristiano Ronaldo Confirmed To Play Till Euro 2024! Claims \”Put Up With \’Cris\’ For A While Longer\”

One of if not the greatest footballers of our generation, Cristiano Ronaldo, made his international debut in 2002. In the year 2003, Ronaldo joined Manchester United. And as they say, the rest is history. After two long decades of dominating international and club football, Ronaldo is in the later years of his career, with his age just one shy of 40. And many fans have been concerned about how long they will see Ronaldo active in football. Luckily for these fans, Ronaldo has clarified that he will play in at least the 2024 Euro Cup. 

Cristiano Ronaldo To Play Till Euro 2024!

Ronaldo is well known for his hard ethic and physical condition. He is still setting new records for his physical condition at the age of 37. The Portuguese striker has already said that his goal is to qualify for Euro 2024. He declared that he had no immediate plans to retire.

   

Evidently, CR7 is nearing the end of his career. And despite making an effort to quit Manchester United in the summer, Ronaldo has spent the majority of this season on the bench. He was in need of a transfer because he wanted to compete in the Champions League. But no real bids from the continent of Europe materialized. Meanwhile, the ManU player received an honor at the Quinas de Ouro event on Tuesday night while serving with Portugal overseas.

During a ceremony on Tuesday, he received the award for being the highest goal scorer for the Portuguese national side. And while giving his acceptance speech, Ronaldo stated, \”My journey is not over yet. You\’re going to have to put up with \’Cris\’ for a while longer.\”

Ronaldo has scored 117 goals in 189 international appearances since making his Portugal debut in 2003. He broke the previous mark of 116 goals held by retired Iranian striker Ali Daei. With his two goals against the Republic of Ireland in September 2021, the attacker also surpassed Iranian legend Ali Daei\’s 109 goals to become the top international scorer. Additionally, he has won the Ballon d\’Or five times. Ronaldo led Portugal to victory in the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 2019 Nations League.

Despite rumors that he may change clubs this summer, Ronaldo ultimately chose to remain at Manchester United. Last season, despite Ronaldo\’s 24 goals across all competitions for United, they had their lowest-ever point total and finished sixth in the Premier League. Since being hired in the summer, Erik ten Hag has just once started Cristiano Ronaldo in a league match, preferring Marcus Rashford in the center of the field.
