The Golden State Warriors, despite of a horror show in first half of the tournament, witnessed a surge post All-Star break. They won a streak of road games to finish the regular season with a 46-36 record which was just good enough to put them into 10th seed, the last the play-in tournament spot.

That being said, Golden State Warriors are pitted against Sacramento Kings, a team with whom they share deep history, for the play-in game. The last time these sides met in knockout stage, Steph Curry turned up with an iconic 50-point show to see Dubs through to the next round. Reflecting on the same, rookie Brandin Podziemski solidified Curry’s legacy.

Golden State Warriors met Sacramento Kings in round 1 of the 2022-23 NBA season playoffs last year. The two heavyweight sides put up a stellar and fierce show to level the seven-game series 3-3 before Steph Curry unraveled his special dominance to guide his side to the next stage. In Game 7, Curry fired up with 50 points, 6 assists, and 8 rebounds to see the Dubs advance further with a 120-100 scoreline. That being said, a year later, starts have aligned to pit these playoff rivals against each other for a play-in game. The Dubs finished in 10th place, whereas the Kings settled themselves in ninth spot. These two sides will meet for a play-in game on Tuesday, with the winner getting to advance further.

Meanwhile, Warriors rookie Brandin Podziemski opened up on the pre-game hype and also mentioned Steph Curry’s last year’s heroics. Podziemski wasn’t with the team last season, but Curry’s magic show solidified him as one of the best players ever for Brandin. He added that the crowd loves the rivalry, and he is sure the stadium would be buzzing on Tuesday night. However, irrespective of the crazy scenes, he is ready to tackle the Sacramento Kings to guide the Dubs to a deep postseason finish. Notably, the winner of the Warriors-Kings game will meet the loser of the New Orleans Pelicans and Los Angeles Lakers matchup. That, once again, will be a road game. And given the Golden State’s record on the road this year, they would count themselves favorites.

For the final fixture of the regular season, Golden State Warriors met Utah Jazz at Chase center. While the hosts sealed a 123-116 victory, Steph Curry’s absence on the court left the fans baffled. However, coach Steve Kerr admitted that Curry was rested owing to the upcoming hectic road schedule. The dubs have three play-in game lined up for the week.

And therefore, it made sense to Steve Kerr to rest Steph Curry to keep him fresh for the crucial games. “Given what we are facing, it made no sense to put him out there today,” said Kerr. Notably, alongside Curry, veteran Draymond Green also graced the bench with Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins leading the Warriors charge against Jazz.
