The New York Yankees need a boost in the offensive lineup to rediscover the lost form. Aaron Judge and Juan Soto can no longer weather the storm alone and hence need a supporting cast. Meanwhile, the Yanks are expected to get a massive upgrade soon if fate plays its role perfectly.

Giancarlo Stanton, the only consistent hitter besides Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, strained his hamstring last month right in the middle of a resurgent stretch. While Stanton’s fitness has been fragile for the past couple of years, this time around, the slugger looks ready to revive the New York Yankees’ playoff quest soon.

Giancarlo Stanton, a former NL-MVP and one of the most feared hitters in MLB saw his career decline due to repeated injury issues. He went on IL six times in the past four years due to multiple lower body issues. While the slugger turned up with a leaner physique this spring training, he couldn’t dodge an injury for long. After a strong start to the 2024 MLB season, wherein he hit .274 with 18 home runs, Stanton strained his hamstring while running on the bases last month. He was immediately ruled out for four weeks. That being said, the DH ramped up quickly, and given his speedy recovery, the Yanks scrapped a minor league rehab assignment.

Moreover, manager Aaron Boone confirmed on Friday that Giancarlo Stanton is eligible for reinstatement on Monday if his medical assessment is satisfactory. Boone noted that Stanton’s presence not only bolsters the lineup but also adds veteran leadership and postseason experience, which are invaluable assets as the team navigates the latter part of the season. Meanwhile, Stanton’s return could not come at a better time for the New York Yankees, who have faced offensive inconsistencies and injury woes throughout the season. His ability to drive in runs and provide clutch hits will be crucial as the Yanks strive to secure a playoff spot. However, Giancarlo’s return alone cannot revive the Bombers. The front office must add external offensive upgrades at the upcoming trade deadline to bring a meaningful change to the roster. However, the job is easier said than done, given the lack of options available on the trade window.

Yankees Eyeing Multiple Upgrades At Trade Deadline!

Andy Martino of SNY recently reported that the New York Yankees are eyeing upgrades at third base, bullpen and starting rotation at the upcoming trade deadline. With DJ LeMahieu’s struggles seeing no bounds, third base reinforcements is a no brainer for the team. On the other hand, relief corps have been equally awful lately.

Also, with Clarke Schmidt on IL with lat strain, the New York Yankees are also a pitcher short in the starting rotation. Hence, any upgrade in the pitching department will be a bonus. That being said, the front office will have to carefully plan out their future moves to not only address the immediate needs but also safeguard the club’s future.
