Los Angeles Lakers turned an almost impossible situation to make the postseason into a place in the conference finals in the 2022-23 NBA season. They surprised everybody after defeating the second-seed Memphis Grizzlies and the defending champions Golden State Warriors. But even after a miraculous turnaround, the team could not go on to win the championship. The new NBA Champions Denver Nuggets blew the purple and gold army in the Western Conference Finals.

It was humiliating for the Lakers Nation as the series ended in four games. But the front office and the management plan to push for another championship next year before the LeBron James and Anthony Davis era ends. With the James-Davis duo, the Lakers won in the 2019-20 season during the pandemic. Since then, it has been a tough few years. After struggling to find balance in the roster for three years, things started changing coming to mid-February in 2023. Now the LA side has been through an impressive offseason. Laker’s coach believes they can win it all next season.

The Laker’s front office did a spectacular job of bringing in players to fill in the gaps. In the offseason, many of those players were heading toward free agency. But the performance of Rob Pelinka was impressive yet again. They retained the players who were their main priorities and have got a balance in the roster for the next season. That is why the Lakers coach believes that “Yes, we can win the whole thing, as it is not just about reaching the playoffs.” Darvin Ham has excited the Lakers Nation about the following season, as he sure knows what he is talking about.

When he joined the LA side from the Milwaukee Bucks, the team had star powers but no balance. However, Ham coached the side that turned things around in February this year. Since then, the 17-time champions won 27 and lost 16. They proved to be a serious side. Moreover, they continue to improve after a successful offseason. Hence, Darvin Ham has reasons to feel hopeful about the 2023-24 season. Additionally, Ham acknowledged that there is an importance of cohesiveness. It is not just about winning but also bringing sustainability pieces. That’s how the game is trending and evolving. Like Rob Pelinka, General Manager of the 17-time champions, Darvin Ham, the coach too, believes in keeping the core together to push for another championship.

LA Looking For Their 14th Member! Christian Wood Viable Option

At present, they are looking for an ideal big man or center to play alongside Anthony Davis as the 14th member of their roster. However, the Lakers can still jump on the opportunity to sign big players like James Harden or Damian Lillard. But as the 14th member in their roster, the Lakers hope to sign Christian Wood or Bismack Biyombo.

However, if the front office is looking for diversity in the roster, they can try harder to sign Wood. Anyway, the Lakers need a center who can take the pressure off Anthony Davis. Jaxson Hayes is too inexperienced to take so much responsibility. But Wood started his career back in 2015. Hence, he can play the substitute role for AD when the team needs him to.
