Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo and his manager Jorge Mendes are actively looking for a new club for the Portuguese star. The 37-year-old returned to Manchester United last season and signed a two-year contract. However, United finished sixth in the Premier League, securing the lowest points in the club history, and failed to qualify for the Champions league. Meanwhile, Ronaldo scored 24 out of the 57 goals the United scored last season. The total goals last season was a staggering reduction from the previous season\’s 73 goals. Despite Ronaldo\’s dominating performance, he was blamed for the united failure last season.

The Portuguese star was criticized for not pushing too hard against tougher oppositions and causing chaos inside the squad. As a result, some of the top clubs in the football world, including Chelsea, PSG, and Bayern Munich, rejected the possibility of a Ronaldo transfer deal. Chelsea\’s manager Thomas Tuchel was clear that he did not have Ronaldo on his transfer list. He believes in a team game and not running the team around a single player. However, Chelsea\’s new American co-owner Todd Boehly previously met with Mendes in June to discuss the deal. This made the blues in favor of acquiring CR7. But, Tuchel made it clear that he was not interested in bidding for Ronaldo.

Boehly & Tuchel

Recently, several reports have suggested that Chelsea is not fully out of the transfer deal for Cristiano. It is believed that Boehly is still attracted to the prospect of landing Ronaldo to Chelsea, despite Tuchel\’s disinterest in the deal. Thus, the Blues has not completely backed out of the deal and are reportedly ready for an offer. With only a year left in Ronaldo\’s United contract, Chelsea is ready to offer a £14m deal. Moreover, the longer Ronaldo\’s deal discussions continue, the more Chelsea would be attracted to go for the deal as the club needs a dependable forward. Thus, there is a serious possibility of the Blues finally going after CR7.
