In his column for Sky Germany, Ralf Schumacher discussed the complexities of the Barcelona track and the factors that will determine success in the upcoming race. He noted that Barcelona has always been a challenging circuit and will continue to be so. According to Schumacher, the best car concept will ultimately prevail on this track, as it tends to expose the weaknesses of all cars. Moreover, Schumacher pointed out that Ferrari might again struggle with tire wear issues, which could hinder their performance. In contrast, he believes Max Verstappen will have a significant advantage with his Red Bull car, which he deems well-suited for this track. Therefore, the six-time race winner emphasized that Red Bull should have no problems at Barcelona.

The German racer mentioned McLaren, highlighting that they will perform well as all-rounders. Further, he specifically praised Lando Norris, noting his development into one of the most sought-after drivers in Formula 1. Schumacher also questioned Mercedes’ ability to build on their recent performance in Canada. He expressed some skepticism, suggesting that Mercedes might not be able to leverage its engine strengths to the same extent in Barcelona as it did in Canada. However, he remains hopeful that the team’s recent positive trend will continue.
