The New York Yankees faced a lot of injury issues last year. They could not really recover after key players stayed on the injured list for a long time. As a result, they had to deal with a losing streak, and eventually, they could not qualify for the playoffs. Moreover, the Bronx Bombers finished fourth in the American League East division. It was their worst season in the last 30 years because they had an 82-80 record in the end. The NY side barely managed to maintain the streak of winning seasons. But they could not make the postseason for the first time since 2016.

Hence, the fans were not happy at the end of the year. However, the front office made significant changes that sure changed the mood in the Bronx. At present, the Yankees Nation hopes to see the team win not just the AL East, but also the World Series this year. That’s how promising the offseason moves have been for the Bronx Bombers. On top of that, more good news is coming in the way for the Yankees Faithful. The top prospect of the Pinstripes, Jasson Dominguez, is recovering rapidly after undergoing Tommy John surgery.

The Dominican top prospect of the Yankees could not play many games last season. But the few games he could play in the big league showed a lot of promise. The fans believe “The Martian” can win the Rookie Of The Year if he stays healthy. Moreover, he is just 21 years old. He could have a great debut season for the Yankees in 2023. But the Dominican prodigy could only play eight games in the big league last year. Then, he sustained a severe injury that saw him on the 60-day Injured List. Later, he had Tommy John surgery. And the team believed he wouldn’t be able to return before the midseason in 2024. However, recently, the team shared an encouraging update on The Martian.

Lately, Jack Curry of YES Network mentioned Jasson Dominguez apparently has “Out of the world healing.” On top of that, the Yankees manager mentioned the Dominican top prospect has been progressing through his throwing program. Moreover, Aaron Boone noted that Dominguez has been throwing from 75 feet. On Wednesday, Bryan Hoch, a Beat writer, also provided a video of Dominguez throwing. It was a couple of days prior to the report of Curry. Another big step to Jasson’s recovery will be on Monday, when the team will allow him to hit from both sides of the plate, left and right.

For the last couple of weeks, Jasson Dominguez was hitting from the right side. However, on Monday, the 21-year-old outfielder can start swinging from his “Power” side, that’s the left side. Prior to the latest updates, the team expected Dominguez to return to the big league in June or July. Moreover, the Yankees planned for his rehab games in late April or early May.

But the new information might indicate an early April rehab program for The Martian. And then, the Yankees can hope to see Jasson back in the rotation in the big league before the All-Star break. However, he is still a developing prospect, hence, the Yankees may not want to rush with his recovery. Nevertheless, the Yankees Faithful is eagerly waiting for the Dominican prodigy’s return.
