That being said, Tim Hill was released by the Chicago White Sox just a couple of days ago after his ERA soared to 5.87 ERA in 27 appearances. Regardless, the Yanks view him as an asset for his unique sidearm delivery. “It’s a different look from the left side, a guy that really puts the ball on the ground,” Aaron Boone said.
Notably, Tim Hill, 34, has a career 17-14 record, four saves and a 4.30 ERA in 347 career relief appearances for the Kansas City Royals, San Diego Padres, and Chicago White Sox combined. Additionally, Hill’s unique pitching style and experience could be particularly useful in high-leverage situations, where matchups against left-handed hitters are crucial.
