The New York Yankees had very few reasons to be happy about last season. Some rookies like Jasson Dominguez and Anthony Volpe made a promising start to their careers. However, injuries did not let the happiness glow as much as the NY side would have liked. The Bronx Bombers really had a long Injured List. Moreover, names of young players, as well as experienced players like Anthony Rizzo and Aaron Judge, filled their IL for the most part of the last season. In the end, the NY side could not make the postseason. They finished with an awful 82-80 record. Moreover, there were a lot of concerns regarding their offense and outfield.

Anyhow, the Yankees did well this offseason to fix a lot of those issues. Most importantly, when the NY side confirmed the signing of Juan Soto, they changed the dynamic in the American League East. However, it would still be very hard to beat the Baltimore Orioles to win the AL East. But the Yankees know now they have the team to do some magic. But the 27-time champions would love it if their young guns joined the party as well. How nice would it be if Jasson Dominguez joined the batting order with Aaron Judge and Juan Soto? Recently, the Yankees skipper gave some encouraging news on the young man’s health.

On Thursday, the Yankees manager gave an interview with The Michael Kay Show, and said Jasson is recovering really well. Last September, the rookie had to undergo Tommy John surgery on his right elbow. But if he is healthy, he can be a real wild card for the NY side. Previously, his health update was that Dominguez wouldn’t be ready before the middle of the 2024 season. Anyhow, the skipper is positive about the progress he is making. Moreover, the manager mentioned that Dominguez turned “A whopping 21 years old on Wednesday.”

Adding to that, Aaron Boone noted that last year’s rookie looks to be in great shape at present. Moreover, Boone mentioned that it is really great to see him. Also, the skipper said that Jasson is working hard and will be back for them in the summer. Boone sounded pretty confident about that. In about ten days or a couple of weeks, Jasson Dominguez might even begin throwing. Moreover, Boone mentioned when Dominguez joins the team at some point in the summer, it will be a pretty good shot in their rotation. The skipper hopes for the best.

How Impressive Has Jasson Been For The Pinstripes In The Last Few Years?

Since the last few years, The Martian has been one of the top prospects of the NY side’s farm system. He only could play eight games in his rookie season for the Yankees last year. But the switch-hitting outfielder was impressive during that brief stint. He went 8 for 31 with .258. Dominguez also hit four homers, a double, seven RBIs, and a couple of walks.

One of the most memorable incidents last season was when Jasson hit Justin Verlander with an opposite-field home run. That’s how good he was at his first at-bat. Hence, a healthy Dominguez can be a great addition to the batting order that consists of Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, and Alex Verdugo.
